I have a 2015 red Mustang and wash it once a week with this product. I have installed a 5 micron water filter ( home depot $35) on my garden hose so I don't get any water spots. I use 2 oz per wash with approximately 3 gallons of water. I use a second water bucket that I only use to wrenc out my microfiber glove to keep the soapy water as keen as possible. I dry her with a California squeegee and then a waffle style micro fiber cloth. I am very particular about things and I am very pleased with this product. ... show more

This here is the best ! The most bubbles, best grime removal and longevity (provided you dry after rain). If combined with Mother's restore products and/or waxes you'll see magic happen right in front of you.... Like many other products from Mother's this soap is also very thick compared to competition. It's almost the consistency of gel or liquid honey, tip the container twice into a 5 gallon bucket and you're set to wash a car the size of an F-Body Camaro with ease. Btw, I just finished a bottle of a watered down Rain-X Spot Free car wash which finished so much quicker (apart from the fact it failed on its claim to not need a drying towel to dry after washing with it), I'm so glad to be back with Mother's brand again, 3 washes and I've never added soap to my bucket mid-wash and so long to doing that ! Final results are great, water beads of the paint flawlessly (provided you wax your car or have done so in the last month or two), every time it rains I just dry the car and it looks just like after a wash with this product again, even weeks later. Prices on Amazon are also insanely low, go and try to buy this in an automotive store instead.....huge price gap ! This is the real deal, no more watered down automotive products for me, quite frankly I can't understand why I even gave another brand a try, Mother's has never failed me yet - 5-stars ! ... show more

This has to be one of the best soaps I’ve used to date. I typically don’t care and just throw a healthy amount of simple green in a bucket it and call it a day. Well with lots of extra time on my hands over the pandemic I washed, clayed and waxed my car. First the difference between simple green and mothers wash was night and day and for the record I always though simple green did a wonderful job. The appearance of the paint after the wash Alone looks waxed. I hand dried the car with microfiber towels it looked freshly waxed. I followed up with the clay and wax by mother’s and my car looks better than factory new paint. Paint chips aside of course ... show more

I'm using this on a new car and two tablespoons in 1 1/2 gallons of water gives amazingly good results. Nice to know I'm not damaging the clear coat like I did on a previous vehicle using dish washing soap. If my math is correct (2 tablespoons = 1 fluid ounce and the container holds 32 ounces) I should get approx. 32 washes per container. Now that's a deal. ... show more

Lathered up nicely, left my car looking really good after washing. Seemed to not have any reaction with the paint sealant on my car, which is a plus. Soap has a very mild scent, which I find a good thing. Less than half the price of other washes, with twice the volume. Will probably switch over to this soap full-time once I use up the rest of my other soap. The bottle dimensions are on the small side, but the volume is exactly as described (32 oz.). I still can't figure out why some people have an issue with that... ... show more

    • Fantastic soap, but lousy cap.

The cap that comes with this jug, is not the same as pictured; the one pictured on the jug comes on the 64oz bottle without the handle. I got this one again because of the handle. I had broken the cap on the bottle I had last time from dropping it, still about 3/4 full. Somehow the cap still snaps shut but I wouldn’t trust it for more than to keep contamination from happening. They do fit the same, so if I didn’t break the other cap I would’ve transferred it. But I will have to admit that this cap it comes with can’t be screwed on all that tight without splitting the cap open like the last time I bought this jug. I’d say it’s pretty flimsy and not so assuring. I’d trust the other cap as it only allows for a small amount to come out so you’re not dumping more than you intended to. Other than that, the scent is very pleasant, they both are really. Most pleasant one smells like bubble gum, the other, not so much; but you get use to it. ... show more

Before Mothers California Gold, I was using Meguiar's Gold Class exclusively for my car wash. I thought the Meguiar's was quite good. It had the best cleaning power and was the least harsh of the car washes that you could get at the auto parts store. After using Mothers, I think I will be switching car wash soaps. This soap actually made it easier for me to dry the car! As the label states, I was able to achieve a dry, spot-free car with fewer passes of the towel as compared to the Meguiar's, which took more passes. Make the switch. I know I will. ... show more
