I have bought 4 sets of these now and a few for Christmas gifts. I like that this is a small business brand. Bowls are a nice size and shape for Pho or Ramen or really whatever soup you desire. I have all the colors and they are subtle and creamy. The bowls are sturdy and easy to clean. If you endulge in lots of Asian style soups I highly recommend these. Even with the large size, chopsticks easily prop up or lay across the top. The Asian style soup spoons prop without sliding into oblivion. I much prefer these over the melamine bowls as I hate eating from plastics and they also look way nicer! Note: as with any pottery bowl, I would not heat the soup in bowl in the microwave without being aware that ceramic pottery gets hot! ... show more

As with ALL Mora ceramic pieces, these ramen bowls are stunning. The glaze is simple but elegant, the bare red clay of the bowls' feet has a fantastic feel (I'm a potter myself. So this is important to me) and the pieces are finished expertly. None of that is anything I don't expect from Mora. But what is amazing is they nailed the shape of authentic Japanese Ohgigatadon ramen bowls. And these are HUGE! Just like you'd find in a real ramen house.. I only take the time to write reviews for products that are exceptionally good, or exceptionally bad. Well, these bowls are fantastic! They are beautiful, substantial, and perfect for so many uses. We will use them for ramen, rice bowls, and soups. They are large, but still feel like dinner bowls as opposed to serving bowls. They will hold an ample amount of soup without sloshing over the sides. This is great because sometimes we eat nothing but a big bowl of soup for a meal. These bowls are surprisingly nice - both quality and aesthetics! Quality: I had some doubts when ordering these bowls because the other Mora pasta bowls and plates I purchased had so many defects! I'm not sure if it was pure luck, but there were no issues with scratches or poor glazing issues. Side note, although the actual bowls were nicely packaged inside a clean box, the box came damaged likely due to rough/careless delivery. Look: Hands down, they look lovely. It's fun to plate meals and make eating a bit more enjoyable! Bottom line, although these specific bowls are nice (both quality, feel/look) I wouldn't jump to recommend to other people primarily for their inconsistent QA with other bowls/plates. ... show more
