Motor arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Prior to delivery I had done a lot of research on how to wire the motor so all I had to do was follow the wiring instructions to get up and running. Overall I am very happy with the motor and would recommend it.

I bought a pair of these after my father bought one for his lift. We both live on saltwater canals in Florida. After a couple months outdoors, you can see rust on the screws and the case. I hit it pretty well with Fluid Film to hold down the corrosion. I also removed entirely the box containing the thermal reset switch - don't need that for my application and the boxes wouldn't fit under the motor covers. I covered the exposed slots that were under those boxes with vinyl graphic film to seal out the elements. The image I'm including is the wiring I needed to hook up a Gem Remote box. My father had manual switches in his control box that used the same wiring color scheme. This is for the 120V hookup. T6 and T8 are the two starting capacitors. You energize one or the other to start the thing moving CW or CCW, and the other two wire pairs are always the same. ... show more

this electric motor had to be reorderd thru customer service as buy again. never got my first order. thanks amazon customer service !! I was very pleased when my item was here. the cardboard box motor came in had no damage and the motor was packed very well. motor was wired up for 220v so i changed it to 110v to check motor out. diagram on motor housing was spot on. motor ran great. i'm very pleased. i like building things and needed the motor to build around to make a frame to custom fit this motor and work out from it. back to work . ... show more

1960s - 70s Craftsman 10-inch 113 series FLEX CABLE DIRVE table saw. Replaced the 1 1/16th HP motor with this 1 ½ HP motor. Both motors are 3450 RPMs. With the extra HP there is more torque. Model number in description was different than model number on motor shown. Also, model number of motor delivered was different than both of those. Being as how it was 1 ½ HP with CCW rotation, I went ahead and kept it. Made a bushing for the end of the flex cable to fit into on the end of the motor over shaft. The motor mounted onto the old mounting brackets with no problem. Added another bolt on mounting bracket at saw housing because of the extra weight of the new motor. When wiring, unlike others, wire for a CCW rotation as per instructions located on motor. At this time, I’m very happy with this motor and would buy again. It is a little noisier than my other, but it has more HP so maybe that’s way. When turning off, it stops faster also. Will update if anything changes. NOTE: This would be a good time to lubricate the flex cable if you haven’t done before. Follow instructions in manual. Make sure you reinstall cable twisting in correct direction (cable is a twist cable like in the old speedometer cables, twisted wire with square ends). UPDATE- Today I finally got into cutting some 1 3/4" thick poplar wood. It was like night and day. My old motor I would have to push slow or cut only half the height and make second pass. This motor, I just pushed, it was like cutting butter. Never slowed down. ... show more

Nightmare with $40 repair by a local professional. Now its smooth ,quiet, powerful. Likely someone had a bad day at the manufacturing facility somewhere in China. We all make mistakes. The wires have shrunk on plastic number bands, 1-9. Mine had two #3 wires and no #2 wire. There is no way to follow the easy to read directions with no #2 wire. The motor hummed ,ran slow then started to get warm without a load. Off to the repair shop it went. ... show more
