Got this since we live in Southern Africa and do lots of overlanding/car camping. I love how this Moonshade is so sturdy. The suctions the Moonshade come with are crap. Mine arrived broken. Luckily I followed everyone’s advice and also got the big suctions which are fantastic. I actually don’t even need the suctions as I attach my Moonshade to my roof rack of my pickup. Besides being a great Car awning, I also used my Moonshade without the car as a beach shade/cover. This dual use was a game changer for us. Our Moonshade now permanently sits in our truck bed as we always seem to be using it. I can’t recommend this product enough. I bought this for my European style living quarter horse trailer. There was no good place to attach an awning and it is always just me at shows etc, so I hate the pop up style canopies set up for one person. I needed a place to give me cover out of rain and/or sun. I took it this weekend to my horse event. My kit included heavy duty suction cups. The moon shade, ropes, anchors, instructions and poles; allbb but in a nice little lightweight storage bag. Set up was pretty straightforward other than tying the extensions which enable you to clip the canopy up high to the rings when mounted. I initially had trouble getting the suction cups to stay put on the fiberglass waxed shell. They came off 4 times once I attached the canopy to them. I ended up scrubbing off the wax and adding water to the cups. After that they stayed put. I had a ladder, so I didn’t mess with the extension. Once the cups stayed in place everything was great. We had light winds and a downpour for one day and everything stayed put and kept my boots and entryway dry. I think I will order the 3m suction cup mounts, as I constantly worried that they were going to fall off. Other than that, everything was sturdy and made the bad weather tolerable and gave me a respite from sun and rain. It was easy to put up, easy to take down and store and I look forward to seeing how durable it is. For now, I can’t rate this as I haven’t had it long enough to test. So far, this has Held up extremely well in very high winds. Easy set up and storage. It may end up replacing our fixed awning.

    • Easy to use and provides great shade
Instead of suction cups (which I did not use), I used heavy duty fishing magnets. Unfortunately a wind storm blew it off the top of my van. I bought a 3rd magnet to hold the center loop--will see how it works. Very effective way to get shade while camping with something reasonably-priced and relatively easy to install. ... show more

Tried to adhere this to my building but the suction would not work. Magnets don’t either beaus the building is not metal. I’d have to drill into the building to use. Just Gina stick it in my Jeep for traveling

This is a really great awning. It comes in a very compact case that's easy to carry and transport. It's incredibly easy to put up, I did it on my own straight out of the bag for the first time in under 10 minutes. We used suction cups and while they did stick they came off a few times and so we are looking for a more permanent option. We may purchase the drilled hooks from the same company in the future. With the stake tie downs this is fine for when there's wind. It's attractive, easy to handle and the perfect awning for our little Scamp travel trailer! ... show more
