:::Many updates so please scroll to bottom to see whole review::: So I've only ridden this bike for about 60 miles so far but here are my initial thoughts: This is a fun bike to ride, I haven't taken it off-road but did ride on some rough side hills for a bit and it rides nice. It's a nice looking bike, much better colors than its brother. As you'll see below I've made a number of upgrades to the bike to make it much more capable. Each is pretty easy to do with basic mechanical skills. If you are interested in what others have done to their bikes search for the thread "The dolo in the (semi) wild". Suggested setup: Before you ride it the first time, grease and adjust everything-I pulled the wheels apart and regreased everything. They will come from the factory with a minor amount of grease and most likely will be overtightened. Upgrades: Vuelta MTB Comp Crankset Ibera Bicycle Triangle Frame Bag, Large Sunlite Cloud-9 Bicycle Suspension Cruiser Saddle, Cruiser Gel, Tri-color Black YST Sealed BSA Cupset w/Bearings English Threads Shimano MF-TZ31 Tourney Freewheel (14-34T Mega 7 Speed) Kenda Juggernaut Tire 26 x 4.5" Steel Bead Black Vee Tire Co. The modifications were great upgrades. I stayed in the lowest gear most of the ride. Was a lot of fun. Tires were running 6 in the front and 8 in the rear. Might need to drop a little lower for additional traction. Edit:18Jan2016 After about 40 miles of snow riding I have decided to get new tires for increased float and traction. The stock tires are good all around tires but I easily broke them loose in the lower gears. I installed the 4.5 inch juggernaut tires above. There is a good amount of clearance between the frame and chain in the lowest gear. If we get more snow this year I'll be pumped to see what they can do. Edit: 9Jul2016 I have almost 300 miles on the bike now and I still like this bike a lot. Back in February I rode a fat bike race and it performed well, I on the other had didn't do so great. I've been pulling a cargo trailer and bike trailer a lot the last few weeks and it's a nice ride. I'm really starting to love fat biking especially since it makes all the roads smoother and I don't have to worry about seams in the road to throw me off. I'm planning to take this on RAGBRAI for a day so I'm feeling comfortable taking the bike on long trips though this is significantly farther than any previous one. Edit: 29Oct2016 The last year with this bike has been great. I took it on one day of RAGBRAI and it survived 74 miles of fun. I have started to pull my cargo trailer more often and it does a great job conquering the hills with up to 120 lbs behind me. Not much more to report other than at 650 miles it's still riding well. Time to get ready for winter riding. Edit: 25Dec2016 Just installed the 4.8" Snowshoe XL tire that I studded by hand using flat top bike studs. The tire is slightly smaller than the 4.5" Juggernaut I run in the summer. Great traction with this combination, I didn't even know I was riding ice until I put my foot down to check. Edit: 3Nov2017 Wow, it's been awhile since the last update but the bike is still going strong at 1,522 miles. No issues to report. ... show more

Just purchased another one. I am converting these to e-bikes. Inexpensive, robust a very good entry level fat bike. And an especially good candidate for my use. Nothing lightweight about it. But you're adding a heavier motor and battery. I like the steel frame because it is strong and I can cut and weld the bottom bracket. That cures the motor mount problems (weld it to the frame) and chain alignment issues. I gear these especially low, the chain wheels have no offset so I cut the bottom bracket to the required width. Everything else that is of questionable quality gets replaced. And surprisingly that is very little. Brake pads, rear axel, ball bearings at both wheels and inner tubes. And these parts were kept on the bike until the heavier, more powerful conversation wore them out. Everything else is good. I rode it as a bicycle for a bit before the conversion, even put on a 3x mt bike chainring to lower the gearing, to high stock. It was fun. But I'm 9000' in the Rockies and the conversion was the main intent. For the money you cannot go wrong. ... show more
