  • It's real studio cable, not flimsy mic cable.
Size: 15 Foot Color: Black
I make my living as a voice artist, and every component in my signal chain must be as noiseless, colorless, and dependable as possible. I carefully researched mic cables before choosing the Mogami Gold Studio cables. Mogami calls these cables Neglex Quad, which means that there are four conductors—the usual two signal wire and the ground wire associated with any XLR cable, plus a bare copper shield wrapped around the other three conductors. The insulation, while flexible, is significantly heavier than typical mic cables. Mogami Gold Studio cables are beneficial in studios suffering from wiring and grounding problems, and especially beneficial where RF or EM interference is a problem. This was especially important in my installation where the mic cables come fairly close to a couple of AC power cables. While I try to cross AC and mic cables at 180-degree angles, I still needed to do everything possible to keep AC hum getting into the signal chain. There are also a couple of digital signal cables that lie parallel to the Mogami mic cable, and I had to be sure that the digital noise didn't get into the analog audio signal. Research has shown that the Mogami Gold Studio cables provide a signal to noise increase of 10 to 20 dB over equivalent twisted pair cables. Quad cables like the Mogami Gold are more effective in canceling noise that can get past even the best of shields. The Mogami Gold Studio cables are perfect for running across the studio floor and in environments where they'll essentially remain in one place. I'd recommend a lighter cable for stage use. There's a reason Mogami costs more, but it's well worth the price difference where exceptional audio quality is imperative. ... show more

  • As always, you get what you pay for
Size: 15 Foot Color: Black
Mogami cables are terrific, and one of only two brands I will use in my recording facilities. (canare is the other). I have been in music production in one form or another for twenty five years and began often thinking - how much defense can a cable make? well, a lot. A studio is only as good as its weakest link, and junky cables make for junky results. Mogami has never let me down (I use their quad core cables everywhere). In a facility with easily 250k in recording equipment and instruments, cables are the single most expensive item - and investing in quality interconnects was worth every penny. Why have a 15k converter if you are using junky cables to plug into you 5k pre? Spend the extra and you'll hear the difference. - there is a difference and it isn't just "the elusive 5% better for 4x the price." Build quality, sound, warranty, etc. it's a package deal worth the investment, at least in my opinion. ... show more

  • Exactly What You Need!
Size: 15 Foot Color: Black
These are my go-to cables. Yes, they are expensive but you are paying for the quality of the cables and connectors. How much is it worth to NOT have to troubleshoot a hum issue caused by a cheap cable? I use these cables with several microphones and audio recorders. The tolerances of the connectors specifically are a welcome relief to the hit and miss you get with cheaper cables. If you have a microphone that needs a lot of amplification like the SM7B, you really need these cables. Benjamin Franklin wasn't thinking about cheap audio cables when he wrote -“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” but it fits...buy quality and you only cry once. ... show more

  • Pristine Vocals with Mogami Gold Studio Cable
Size: 15 Foot Color: Black
After receiving the Mogami Gold Studio Cable, I hooked it up to a Shure SM58 microphone and the Cakewalk UA-25ex audio interface which was connected to a Dell workstation. Based on the DAW readouts, the Mogami was quieter than a standard mic cable by -10db. The vocal clarity was pristine with an extended upper range and far superior to the standard cable. When setting an audio gate at -50db, the background white noise was dead silent with the microphone input level set at noon. No white noise bleeding can be heard during voice-over recordings. Sensitivity for the Shure SM58 improved giving it a somewhat bolder sound when compared to the standard cable. After inserting within the DAW a digital equalizer, reverb, tube amp and compressor, voice-overs achieved a professional radio sound. That was something I could not attain with a standard cable. If you are searching for a professional grade voice recording, I highly recommend the Mogami Gold Studio Cable with a top-rated microphone. It's worth every penny. ... show more

  • Legit Best Lightly Overpriced Cable you can get
Size: 15 Foot Color: Black
This cable is the best; it has a lifetime warranty (their website says for legitimately any reason). It blocks out your phone's text messages that sometimes bleed through. It fits solidly into the ports without any problems. Legit, the most solid and perfect cable you can get. It is lightly overpriced; so basically if you want to pay an extra $30 to guarantee you get the most solid perfect gear you can get, do it. Quality control is astounding for these guys. I can't imagine how expensive buying these in bulk is. If you have a cell phone free environment and monitor your electric outlets, you don't really need all the noise-protection this cable comes with. Since everyone uses cell phones, I got one. I'll probably get like 3 more in the future for my personal mics since I only have 4 mic spots anyways. ... show more
