I bought this lamp with the intention of lighting a corner of my desk when the sun goes down. I think it does a great job. Whenever I feel my work area gets a little dark, I pull that very satisfying chain that clicks the light on. It hangs low enough that it's easy to reach over without feeling around for that annoying knob that normally is right below the bulb. I like the bowl-like wooden base. I tend to put small things there. For example, I put my change there for a couple weeks until I was ready to do laundry. Usually my fidget cube lives there. I even put little tiny plants there sometimes. If you're looking for a sturdy and small lamp that won't leave you skipping meals so you can afford to keep your desk lit up in the dark, this is the lamp for you. ... show more

The base looks like blond wood, very handsome...I didn't expect that. It is wide enough to hold plenty of small office supplies like paperclips, pushpins, and rubber bands. Lamp is easy and quick to assemble. Pull chain works smoothly. The shade gives a sophisticated linen look. Will buy a second one, and might buy yet another one as a gift! People that complain that the bulb extends pass the shade...read the directions. Was looking for a light beside the couch that wasn't to big and gave off just enough light at the evening time. Really happy with these lamps! I have one on each side of the bed. The wood base blends nicely with top of chest of drawers. They give off a lot of light without being blinded. Happy I went with the black shades for some contrast. Easy to put together. The pull chain is a little stiff but other than that they are great! ... show more

My teenage daughter bought this lamp for her nightstand and it’s super cute. She absolutely loves it. Make sure that you pay attention to dimensions because it is small but the dimensions are listed in the ad and that’s what my daughter wanted. It just wouldn’t work for living room lamps especially if you have large furniture. Super cute in the right space though! ... show more
