I ordered these specifically to go with my Gothom Steel Pro 14 piece pan set that did NOT have lids for the multiple fry pans in the set, so was finding myself without wanted lids to fit those pans. These two Modern Innovations Universal Lids have met my needs, working great on the various pans as expected. The contour of the lids, even when oversized on a smaller pan, causes any cooking condensation to return to the pan (unlike several other universal lids I had purchased in the past) rather than dripping all over your cooktop, which is a big plus. I supose it would be nicer if you could just pop them in your dishwasher, and I guess you can, but it is recommended that you hand wash them; and I find the handwashing is a really simple clean up with warm soapy water and a dish rag, then I just pop it in my dish drainer on the counter to dry while I finish my kitchen clean up. ... show more

Creates a good seal. Lightweight, but feels durable. Have accidentally left the silicone portion in contact with a stove coil on high for several minutes without any warping. Low profile for storage. Fits 7-12” pots and pans. So much better than storing all of the other lids.

The lids match my Tramontina pans and work very well. Silicone edges are better for the non-stick pans. I purchased them as my ten inch pan had to be replaced due to damage caused by metal lid previously used.

Simple, sturdy once assembled. Customer has to assemble the handles onto the tops, but once on, good seal, the two lids fit all my pans and pots from 7” to 12”. Nice to see through, and silicon edge seals well and cushions from impact into pan. Cleans easily. Just wish I didn’t receive someone’s return. The product box (not shipping box) had been opened and was taped up with packing tape. This is the third time in just over a year this has happened. ... show more

I bought these in Jan 2022, especially for my large pans, I love them they fit nicely on my 12" cast iron and my egg pan, as well as everything in between. Have had no problems with them and they still look brand new. I do wash them by hand, I tried the dishwasher once or twice in the beginning, but do not like the little white water marks that were left on the silicone (i do not use the drying cycle of my dishwasher, i let my dishes air dry, i don't know if this was the reason for the water marks). I was able to wash that off and as you can see they still look like new. Great product, would buy again, but alas, no need to, as they are still in perfect condition and I use them very regularly, home cooking most days. ... show more

    • Don't work as well as a regular lid

I bought two non stick pans that have no lid. I needed to cover them when cooking. The universal lids are durable. Their handles make them easy to lift and move. They are easy to clean. UNIVERSAL LIDS: Large & small. The lids are not easy to use when cooking. The lids have a glass dome with a knob at the top center for lifting and a silicone skirt that is made in concentric tiers designed to fit pans of various sizes up to a very large pan. The tiers don't fit any of my pots and pans very well and the silicone sags sightly. The vent hole in the glass dome is too small and placed too low to allow enough steam to escape. Steam condenses inside the glass dome forming large drops of water completely obscuring any view of the food in the pan. Lifting the lid to look at the food in the pan causes hot water to fall from inside of the lid back into the pan and on to the stove top. The water falling back into the pan sometimes causes spattering out and on to the stove top. I tried sliding it off to one side to allow some steam to escape, but even that is not really enough and that has not stopped water from forming inside the lid. I still have to lift the lid to see how the food is cooking. Sliding the lid off to the side defeats the purpose of using a lid in the first place. The lid is heavy which adds to the difficulty of sliding the silicone over the edge of the pan to allow steam to exit. A variable sized steam vent would be a step in the right direction but I'm not sure that would be enough to address my concerns. After several weeks, I have quit struggling with this universe lid and stopped using it. It's nice looking and well made, with good materials, but the design engineered into the lid is so poor as to make it unusable for me. I do not recommend the universe lid. ... show more
