After removing the old light fixture, which was a blinking fluorescent light due to a bad ballast, I was able to install this light fixture in less than 10 minutes with just a cross-tip (Phillips) screwdriver and a pair of pliers. If you are a do-it-yourself type of person, a handyman, a custodian, a maintenance worker, or an electrician, you will find it easy to install, and it will fit modern standard American electrical boxes. Do, however, be sure to keep the old screw from the old light fixture, if necessary to use in installing this light fixture, in case your electrical box does not work with the screws provided, which may be metric rather than English or old-style measure units. Also, be sure that the power is turned off on the electrical circuit and that no person will accidentally turn it back on while you are doing the installation. I always like to connect the ground or grounding wire first, before connecting the other wires. The LED's in the light fixture are sealed inside it, so the light itself does not allow moths or other insects to get inside. The light is much brighter, more evenly distributed, and easier on the eyes than incandescent and fluorescent lights, and it goes on immediately when the light switch is flipped on and also off immediately when the light switch is flipped off. It is lightweight but not flimsy, so it should last for years if properly installed and used. I have a small (maybe 75 SF at the most) bathroom. It’s only wired for one light (over the vanity). I read the reviews and compared several products. I wanted something BRIGHT. I chose this light because of the reviews that said it was very bright. This light is not bright at all. I would compare the amount of light put out by this fixture to that of a 45 watt bulb. If you’re looking for something bright, look elsewhere. If you buy this, you will be disappointed. On the plus side, it’s a nice looking light and it was easy to install. It may work as a supplemental light, but if you’re looking to use it as your main light, I would not recommend it. ... show more

The product is as described and arrived with adequate protection. The biggest pain point is to attach the square light fixture mount to the wall plate. The metal is thin and the holes were definitely not aligned. The mount uses 2 tiny set screws and it took well over 15 minutes of wrestling to get both of them aligned. In the end, I had to loosen the wall plate to get the whole thing working. So, please be aware that you may face issues during the install process. Overall, the light is bright and once installed, the fixture looks quite nice. But it is a bear to get the set screws aligned and the whole experience of the installation left a sour taste. ... show more

The unit is mostly plastic and the led control module is mounted in unit with a piece of double back carpet tape.
