    • It is what they say it is, and it works as described and well.
I don't write a lot of reviews. Most things are either "blah...it is what it is and nothing special" or "it was a PITA and I returned it or it just wasn't right. This one, though...it IS what they say it is AND it actually was much better, and easier to put together, than I thought when I made the purchase. So, back story.....I have an "extra 55in TV" since it just got repaired and I had gotten a replacement in the meantime. I also have a "games room" with a full size craps table, seating, dart board, etc. I wanted to mount the TV but, due to windows in that room, the only place I could mount it on the wall would actually be on the fireplace. I hesitated doing that. So, I searched for portable TV stands. I had looked, years ago, for similar, and didn't like what I saw. This time, I looked at a few dozen. I read the reviews (filtering out the BS ones, imo) and read the questions (people! Read product descriptions before asking questions! I saw a lot of questions that were answered either in the product title or immediate description). After a few hours of research, I went back to one of the first 2 I had initially looked at, and this was the one I chose. It arrived and, as I am having some problems with my leg, I can't knee or squat down or do other things that would have made putting it together much easier, but, that said, I was still able to do it, on my own. Just took a little longer, but still didn't take too long. Probably 30 minutes. When putting together, unpack everything, place on table (in my case) or floor, and have the instructions out. Follow the instructions. Nothing tricky. They are actually pretty easily written in English and the photos are easy to follow as well. Don't get ahead of yourself and just doublecheck your steps as you go. They give you all the tools you need (until the end when you do need a small philips head screwdriver to secure the mount in the last step). All the parts are there, and segmented appropriately, in the packaging...and labeled well....instead of a mishmash of parts where you have to separate them on your own. The TV I mounted was a Samsung 55" LCD and I was able to mount it on my own (I'm 5'10" and not weak, but I feel that most males around my size and many females that are 5'6" or more, and are ok lifting 30-40 pounds on their own can do this. Wingspan has more to do with this than lifting weights for this. If in doubt, get a friend. Most 2 person groups could lift and mount super easily, I believe). I've had it installed and in use all afternoon and this evening now, as I put it next to my craps table and I have been shooting dice with it on. I enjoy having my TV in the same room instead of just hearing it from another room....and, when the weather gets nice again, with this mount, we can always wheel it out on the deck and watch TV in the evening while enjoying the outdoors. The one thing that I wish were a little different is the tray. What they have done is functional and no complaints. I just wish there were an easy way to have the tray on the back of the unit as I don't like stuff distracting my view when I am watching TV (that's on me for letting it distract me). I do understand that, for some, that wouldn't work to have it on the backside as it may, depending on what is put there, unbalance the unit and cause a tipping hazard though. Overall, for the price paid, this is pretty darn good. Does not feel cheap or shoddy at all. Feels well constructed and quality parts. Good job on making this! ... show more

From the moment that I picked up the connector ring and observed the thick stainless steel with wide/deep grooves, I knew that the rest of this product would be made of the same quality. This is the FIRST piece that companies typically take a cheep route with (often speccing a brittle plastic version, which is likely to fail), simply to increase their margins. “Made in China” doesn’t inherently mean “cheep products”. A bad product with those words on it was ordered that way by the company that requested it. This product, frankly can’t be profitable for Perlesmith. It’s excellent build quality, right down to the individually sleeved and superbly packaged pieces, suggest that Perlesmith’s goal with this product is to gain repeat business within their premium product line, by accepting a smaller profit on this product. The welds are thick and robust, the paint on the frame feels almost like a cerakoted firearm (matte texture paint that can survive extreme temperatures, leaves no prints/smudges, and is pretty abrasion resistant). This product is premium. I advise a couple general strategies when assembling and moving this product: First, read the instructions completely before starting. Find the appropriate screw type for the tube (lower section with pre-drilled holes) and begin threading a single screw in and out of each hole (about 25% through) before attempting assembly. The screws (as well as the screw holes on the tube) are painted. So the process of starting a screw, then removing it, will grind away this unavoidable overspray. This will make attaching the laptop tray much simpler when you reach that step (as it is weighty and you will most likely be attempting the screw with one hand). Secondly, the separation and spacing of the feet (as well as the general pull of gravity against this configuration) will insure that the weight and size of a tv (as large as 55”) works to prevent the completed product from falling forward. However, this configuration is highly prone to tipping over backwards. I believe that the intention of the spacing of the rear legs is to facilitate a near flush appearance against a wall or in a corner (which would make tipping over in any of the 4 directions impossible unless physically acted upon). As such, great care should be taken while moving your completed tv cart (as in travel, there will be nothing preventing the unit from tipping backwards beyond your own control of the structure while in motion). Once you’ve “parked” it, the stability is apparent. Finally, I believe that this is one of the better implementations of this design, and is a clear indicator of what to expect further up the product line (which I now intend to explore) being presented by Perlesmith. If any reviews are drastically dissimilar to my own, I firmly believe that the end user simply didn’t select Perlesmith as the seller; and clearly fell victim to purchasing an intentional misrepresentation of the actual product being listed here within. ... show more

Took me about 30mins or more to out together. Only bc I was reading the instructions throughly, they are very easy to read and clear to understand. I like how your are given multiple lengths of screws and bolts sizes to fit your tvs needs. Also give you multiple examples of different tvs styles so you can shoes what’s best for your situation. I like how it frees up space on my dresser and was able to fit in the weird spot in my room. ... show more

I absolutely love this stand. It’s well made and feels super sturdy, and holds the tv with no concern. I love the wheels making it very maneuverable, and the removable and adjustable shelf for a laptop or gaming console is awesome. The ability to run cords down the center is also great. But the biggest perk for me is the ease and simplicity of the adjustable height. I use different sized TVs on this, and in different settings, and to be able to move the mount up and down in a couple seconds is worth the price of admission alone. ... show more
