I don't know what makes one better than the other. I suppose this one's more expensive so it should be better? I'm probably wasting money on it, but I haven't had any problems out of these over the 4 years I've used them.

Per testing, these are one of the best oil filters made. To the person who said the anti-drainback valve did not work...don't believe it. And in most modern engine applications, the valve is not needed since most filters are positioned vertical and once filled, they remain filled (unless you roll the vehicle onto the roof). There are so many reasons for an engine to have a slight noise upon startup, other than oil flow. One is oil is too thin and not the recommended oil, another is on some V8s you can get piston slap from the piston skirts until they start to expand as they heat up (which can be fast depending on engine and ambient temps). So don't blame it on the filter, till you rule out other problems, ... show more

Excellent filter. The diameter and flutes of this filter (76-14 flutes) are different than the OEM AC/DELCO filter so it uses a different filter cap wrench. I found this wrench to fit the filter perfectly and of high quality; STEELMAN 95985 Oil Filter Cap Wrench. Available on Amazon.com.

Great filter. Works as expected. Texture on the top like the other brand would make removals easier. Or a nut on top like K&N filters would be even better.
