This is an awesome little book stand I recently purchased. It's made of MDF and metal, and it's really strong and stable. The design is fun and not too over-the-top. I wouldn't say it has a rustic look, but it definitely has a sleek appearance. And the best part? The instructions were surprisingly easy to follow - much better than the usual boxed furniture instructions. Just make sure you pay attention to each side of the metal bars when putting it together (I learned this the hard way!). It took me about 30 minutes to assemble, and they even included extra screws just in case. I originally planned to use it to hold my coffee table books and a lamp, but it's so sturdy that I ended up using it to store my gaming system and stereo as well. If you ever had a need for a small and inconspicuous little bookshelf just because, well you’ve found it. It won’t fit a lot of books, but I’m sure many ideas could pop into your head on what items you could put here. Even decor could work. It’s quite small so it won’t be a problem finding a spot for this. An absolute breeze to put together. Be sure you get the predrilled holes lined up correctly or you’ll have to redo a few steps. This shelf surprised me. I didn’t realize the frame was metal until I took the parts out of the box. That actually makes it more durable so it’s not a bad thing, but I just had assumed incorrectly this would be manufactured wood legs. So it was a pleasant surprise. The parts were all numbered and the instructions were easy to understand, which is so important and so appreciated because it means you can assemble it so quickly and without confusion. I was able to assemble it in about 15 or 20 minutes. It would have been easier with a second person to hold the frame pieces while screwing in the shelves, but it was doable on my own with some creativity. The only issue I had was that one of the frame pieces was a little off so it didn’t fit flushly (I included a close up picture for illustrative purposes). However, I thought about it and I realized once the shelves were all attached and the backboards it would not be a big deal. I was right. There are also adjustable height knobs on the bottom of the four legs so you can also adjust that way if it doesn’t stand level. The finished product is attractive, looks expensive in person, and is very sturdy. I’m going to use it as a bookshelf for my home office, but it could just as easily look and function well in a bathroom to hold towels or toiletries, or in an entry hall or laundry room. It could even be a living room end table. I definitely recommend this for the durable materials and utility of the shelf in a range of use cases. This is quite a nice shelf overall, especially since it is backed. The steel supports are sturdy and the laminated shelves look good and solid. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble. The instructions are decent (diagrams only, no words), but I missed making sure that all the backing holes were on the same side the first time I put it together, so I had to go back and reassemble. Two minor manufacturing quibbles: the backing boards do not fit precisely (one will overlap the other by about an eighth of an inch (see photo)) and the edges of the backing boards are undyed. I don't notice the board overlap, but the raw edges are visible from across the room. I am going to have to go at them with a Sharpie to fix that. Finally, this is a good shelf for $45-50 but not for $90. ... show more

This is a pretty decent bookshelf that should last a pretty long time. Solid packaging, parts numbered, instructions are easy to follow, all of the parts came in the little red bag which is very nice. During the install a couple of the posts did not line up completely and it leaves a small offset that if you look closer it might bother you. I wasn't sold on the wood/corrugated cardboard that's used for the back of the unit as it seemed flimsy. ... show more
