    • Great electric drum kit for kiddos and beginners
I definitely hesitated before going ahead with this item, at $269.99 with a $60 coupon, but it seemed too fun to pass up. As a vine participant it's a pretty nice deal also, but with only tax considerations it still made me hesitate. That said, I'm pretty happy I went with it. It took about an hour to set up while my 4 year old played with the packaging. Most of it was pretty easy to get going - the frame comes in one piece and then you just need to sort out the differences between the cymbal attachments being there at the start and then adding on the Tom/snare pieces. Lastly you add on the digital input stuff and attach all the cables to each piece, and that registers the sound - all of the cables were labeled correctly, which made that super easy. I haven't been able to figure out *different* drum sounds yet, but it definitely gives the real kit vibe and strong sounds. I played with it a bunch already as a mediocre (former) musician and it confuses me as equally as a real drum kit did. And my kiddos both enjoy it and have used it a bunch, even going so far as having a song played and trying to play along with it - all by themselves. I'm pretty happy with this item! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Ex drummer here. I loved the idea of an electronic set of drums to relive the glory days on a budget. Coincidentally, this is about what I paid for my first real drum set. The first electronic drums used to be very pricey and...very good. These are neither. Main issues: 1. Bass double strike: about half the time, the bass kicker will double strike. It's random and quite strange. 2.Snare drum is impossibly soft. Anyone who has hit a snare drum know how blisteringly loud they are. To get any kind of note at all you must strike this bass drum at full speed. It's completely unbalanced and there's no way to change it short of attaching Garage Band or another midi software to redo the drums. 3. Snare drum placement. Have a look at the more expensive kits and you'll see the snare is angled gently toward you to avoid rim strike. While you can hack this by reversing the snare, it still isn't right. The snare needs a different clamp in order to angle towards you. 4. The plastic rims. These are incredibly annoying and almost impossible not to hit. They are very loud and if you expect these to be silent, you will be in for a surprise. 5. Couldn't change drum kit. Description says 12 different kits. I tried changing them, but I only had one set of sounds. I would not recommend them as you will set your set up so as to limit your ability to advance quickly as a drummer. ... show more

This drum set was super well-packaged, had very clear assembly instructions, and was very easy to put together. It took me probably about half an hour from opening to box to having the set fully assembled, and it came with an awesome hex-head assembly tool wrench thing that I really wish all ikea and mail order furniture came with because it made putting this together super easy. Once assembled, the set was easy to use. It has a built-in metronome with adjustable speed and time signatures, and a solid pair of headphones with a good range of volume. The stool is pretty good and the entire set is adjustable so you could probably set it up for a wide range of people to play on it (from a kid to a tall man). It is also pretty darn quiet, unless you're hitting the sticks on the plastic rims of the drum pads instead of the mesh in the middle, but even then I think it would be very hard to hear any noise from someone playing it with the headphones on from the next room. It's a great option for a family with an aspiring drummer that just wants a little peace and quiet. ... show more

I used to play the drums as a kid, and really wanted to get an electronic drum set so I could practice at night, and this perfect for that! It is quiet, easy to set up and use. It has all the basic things you’d want in a beginner drum set so you can learn without having to spend a ton of money getting started. I like that there are 3 triggers in the drums because it gives you a good feel for where you are striking. Especially because the striking location affects the sound. You get a pair of sticks, headphones, and a stool so you can get going as soon as you set it up. Once assembled, you can store it very easily, so it really doesn’t have to become a fixture in your house. This electric drum set is nothing short of amazing. It comes with everything a person could want and it is very easy to assemble. The quality of the set is superb and the sound is phenomenal. This drum set is a great value for the money and very giftable too!
