  • Great choice for NIR protection
There's a lot of contradicting information out there about whether or not eye protection is necessary during red light therapy treatments. It is definitely necessary if you're using a laser device, but some say it's perfectly safe to use LED devices without it. I personally don't want to take that chance until there are studies done with legitimate proof. When I saw these Mito Red glasses I jumped at the opportunity to try them. I started using red light therapy earlier this year and as I always do when I start something new, I did a lot of Internet research. I came across Mito Red Light many times as one of the leading and respected companies producing red light therapy products. Unfortunately I can't afford their panels at this time and the devices I have were in my budget. Most of these devices come with a pair of safety glasses or goggles. I don't have any kind of equipment to test these glasses for effectiveness so I basically just have to trust that they are protecting me. This is why I was so happy to be able to get a pair from Mito Red Light. As a company that specializes in red light therapy, I know that their glasses are going to be top quality and tested for excellent protection. These glasses are lightweight and comfortable. They provide coverage on the sides for peripheral vision. I'm using them every morning now for my red light therapy sessions and I couldn't be happier. ... show more

  • a good upgrade from the tiny individual eyeball covering goggles fastened with a string
I've been using the tiny eyeball goggles to protect my eyes when using red LED light therapy devices. Those press onto my eyeballs and are uncomfortable. I had hesitated to buy glasses because I was afraid there would be gaps where red light could reach my eyes. The plastic used for these green glasses are so flexible that when combined with the very curved wrap around design, one size can fit all, and the fit is very close and face hugging resulting in no gaps in coverage. I like these but, I do find that the ends are too sharp and they poke you with putting them on. The ends should be made more round. I'm going to coat the ends with a rubber compound for covering tools. ... show more

  • Trusted Eyewear for Red Light Protection
I am so glad to own these Mito Red red therapy goggles. I feel much more secure using my red light face mask with these well fitting glasses. They wrap around to protect peripheral vision as well. I can’t believe how well fitting they are for me because I have a narrow face. Another thing I like is that I can SEE while I’m wearing these. My face mask came with a little plastic pair of opaque goggles, the type you would use in a sun bed. It was very tricky getting under there wearing those silly things and I didn’t quite trust that they were effective. So now I have the proper eyewear manufactured to meet the right standards of protection. I also have a red light device for my dog’s arthritis and these would be great to wear when using that. Highly recommend these Mito Red goggles for complete red light protection. ... show more

  • Complete wraparound and light.
I bought these glassed because I have an old red light lamp and have lost the glasses that came with it. I need to use the lamp and I am delighted I got these glasses to protect my eyes. These glasses are light. They fit firmly but do not cause me discomfort. Being wraparound, they completely block out light from the sides as well. That is important, since it is my shoulder that needs the red light therapy. I can wear them for however long I want to do my red light therapy, without any discomfort. I am a little concerned that they are light plastic and might break. But it just means I need to take a little extra care when using and then storing them. I still like them very much anyway and am happy I got them. ... show more

  • Decent glasses to reduce risk when doing red light therapy at home
I ordered these glasses because I wanted to reduce any impact of red light therapy on my eyesight. The glasses meet my need by being a good size that sits on the bridge of my nose and hugs my face covering my eyes well. I put them on for my wife to see and she thought they were regular sun glasses and liked the way they look on me. I'm not sure how I feel about that. In any event they will only get used a short amount of time each day when I do my red light therapy - that is shine a specific wavelength red light at a part of my body - in my case the joint on my big toe. These glasses are just what I needed to feel more comfortable with the therapy. ... show more

  • I think they work, but the plastic feels cheap
When I pulled these out of the bag, they really reminded me of the flimsy cheap plastic sunglasses that are given away for free to kids at carnivals. But when I look at my computer screen with these on everything does appear a greenish color, so I hope these really are working. They are not very attractive on my face and I wish they covered more of the area immediately above my brows to be safer, but they otherwise do fit closer to my face than my normal sunglasses so I hope they'll help block harmful rays away from my eyes. I'll wear these during my red light session at the spa next week with the assumption that they really are working. They are inexpensive if they do work --but I don't really know to accurately judge how how they are blocking the harmful rays. (... I guess if my cataracts worsen quickly after more light treatments I'll become more suspicious, but that'll probably take a while to find out. So I'll wear these and give them the benefit of the doubt until then.) ... show more

  • Not blackout, but great for glare
These glasses block infrared light, and the glare of regular red light. I personally think these don’t block enough when using both the red light and infrared light on the Mito devices. It’s really a testament to how extremely bright the Mito panels are; I prefer to use the goggles when I’m using the Mito red lights. These are also nice to use when you’re in the room of someone else doing red light therapy. They are very comfortable to wear, and you can still see out of them, unlike other glasses that are have lenses that are more blacked out. I like how the glasses wrap around - they have good coverage and are lightweight. ... show more
