  • New Holy Grail "Foundation"!
Size: 1.69 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: No.21 (Light Beige)
Let me start by describing my very long journey to finding the perfect foundation. As a teenager, I had awful hormonal acne pretty much all over my face, but concentrated on my chin/cheeks. My makeup routine took me FOREVER to do as I did A LOT of color correcting on all of my acne on top of a very high coverage foundation. I had always bounced around from foundation to foundation and never found something I liked, despite trying MANY high end foundations. Even if they had the right coverage, there was always something that bothered me about it: the finish, the color wasn't exactly right, didn't last long, etc. After several years, I am so thankful that my acne finally cleared up and my face is acne free, with the exception of the occasional pimple on my chin area. My struggle now is my post-inflammatory scarring and uneven skin tone which pretty much disappear with any foundation I put on. Problem is, the "holy grail" foundations that everyone is talking about nowadays are usually very heavy/super high coverage that give me an overdone/caked on look that I'm not a fan of. I was looking for a foundation that covered my hyperpigmentation/uneven skin tone, while still looking natural. I had gotten interested in a lot of the asian beauty/skincare products that I read about on Reddit and read about cushion foundations. I found the L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation that I loved (good finish - dewy/glowy, perfect coverage - not too heavy but still looked natural), but was disappointed with the price and how it ran out SO fast ($15 and lasted about 2 months compared to other foundations I had bought that lasted 3-4 months for the same price). I decided that the product I was probably looking for was a BB cream because they are known for being light-weight while still providing some coverage. I decided to do a simple "bb cream" search in Amazon, and the first product to pop up was the Maybelline BB cream, and a little further down, this MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream. After reading about how the Asian brands are typically WAY better quality than the American-produced counterparts (since that's where they originated from), I decided to do some research on this one. This product has many glowing reviews about what a miracle makeup product it is, with the occasional 1-star review of people who received a fake one. I then talked to my sister about it, as she has invested a lot of time and money into a lot of Asian beauty and skincare products and she told me she has actually been using this BB cream as her foundation for 3 years! I was immediately impressed as she has even worse scarring, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone than I do. Yet, when she has makeup on, it completely disappears. I figured she had invested tons of money into some super high-end foundation that I wasn't willing to spend money on/wouldn't be what I wanted. I decided I didn't need much more convincing and ordered the product right away. Well, I can now say I am so happy to have found my holy grail "foundation"!! ("Foundation" being in quotes as that's not really what it is.) This product has absolutely EVERYTHING I was looking for. I am Caucasian with pretty light skin (I am typically the 2nd lightest shade in most foundations), so I ordered #21 based off my sister's color which was the lightest (#13) and she is pretty much paper white/ghost pale. Most people have been put off by the very gray/ash color this BB cream has (which eventually oxidizes into a more natural looking color.) I had read about it already and was prepared for it. I applied it with my Real Techniques blending sponge, first by applying a dot on my cheeks, forehead, and chin, and then blending out. I was IMMEDIATELY impressed by how natural this BB cream looked on my skin and how my hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone completely disappeared. It pretty much melted into my skin. I leaned in as close as I could get to the mirror and still could not even tell I had anything on my face. This BB cream is VERY lightweight (it felt like I was wearing nothing!!) yet lasts so long! (I slept in it the first night -- ew, gross, bad, I KNOW! -- and it was still on my face the next morning!) But like I said, I would have to say my favorite thing about this foundation is the "miracle" coverage. I say miracle because it covered up my hyperpigmentation and evened out my skin tone, yet still looked completely natural (you could still see my freckles and looked like I had nothing covering them). The finish on this foundation is definitely not matte, but definitely not super "dewy" to where you look oily. My L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation definitely was skirting the line between "dewy" and "oily", but this is absolutely perfect. And super BONUS: This BB Cream is SPF 42! I know I should be wearing sunscreen everyday (after all, the best way to treat hyperpigmentation is by not letting it get worse) but I have not found a sunscreen that isn't greasy or wears well under makeup. So I unfortunately skip sunscreen most days. While the amount of this BB cream I put on my face probably does not have enough SPF to perfectly protect me in the awful Texas heat I live in, I can be a little relieved that I have SOME protection! If you have made it to the end of this ridiculously long review, I hope I have convinced you to at least give it a shot. I bought it for $10 from the seller Beauty Best LLC, and I definitely received a real one. This BB Cream sells for $22 on the MISSHA website, so you really have nothing to lose by trying it! $10 is an absolute steal for this amazing BB cream. I cannot say enough great things about it! ... show more

  • Beautiful, lasting sheer coverage!
Size: 1.69 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: No.21 (Light Beige)
I'm so glad that I took a chance on this product in my skin tone (I use number 21-I also tried number 13, which may work in the dead of winter but right now is too light for me), as well as the BB Boomer priming cream by the same line. This is a fantastic product! A little goes a long way. I apply a little bit of moisturizing oil to my face first (3 drops of Youth to the People's Superberry Glow), plus my favorite eye cream (Kiehl's avocado) and let that absorb a little, then mix a half pump or so of the BB Boomer with a single drop of my moisturizer oil and apply to that my face. If I have any areas that need extra attention, I dab a tiny amount of the BB Boomer product that I don't dilute with oil over the spot, and I let it set briefly before I apply the BB cream-which then goes on so smoothly and beautifully, it's like it's magnetically charged to stick to the primer! It's really amazing and easier than it's ever been to do my skin makeup. The Perfect Cover BB cream is an excellent match to my skin tone, and is beautifully sheer. It provides a perfect amount of coverage, but allows for my freckles and real skin to show through, and the luminescent quality of the BB Boomer primer combination imparts a dewy, youthful glow. My skin looks enhanced, rather than covered up, and I have experienced no problems with breakouts or clogged pores after using the products for about a month. I am 44, very fair, and protect my skin well from the sun. I am very grateful for the added SPF in this product, and it works well for a day that I spend mostly indoors. I do add additional SPF coverage for any outdoor activities. I am told often that I look younger than I am, and while I am not sure that is true, I do not have any real wrinkles at this point, except for some fine lines between my brows and on my forehead (which have markedly improved with the use of 2 retinol products!). I do moisturize my face daily and (nearly) nightly, but my skincare regimen is really imperfect otherwise. I am so tired at night I often just use a face wipe to remove makeup, instead of really washing my face. I do a deep wash with my clarisonic 2-3 times a week (more often can cause me redness and irritation) and I use a great salicylic acid exfoliating product daily/every other day, depending on my skin's response. I'm picky about my skin care and cosmetic products and willing to spend money on one when I like it, and this is one I will keep using! I was using Dr. Jart's Black Label BB cream for years, and they have changed their product line recently and the one I was using is not available anymore. The Perfect Cover BB Cream is superior to the product that I was using, and is significantly less expensive than the BB cream I had used for years. My skin looks better than ever, and I can use this in cold and hot weather (which wasn't true about the other products I had used-I had to have separate regimens for summer and winter!) and my skin looks equally great, and there's in this BB Cream. The BB Boomer is also a phenomenal product, and I love it. I am glad I took a chance and tried it. If you're considering it, buy it, now! You will love it! ... show more

  • A Great Product!
Size: 1.69 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: No.23 (Natural Beige)
I really like this BB cream. Don't be scared off by how grey it comes out of the tube, it looks very natural on the skin and find that it cancels out redness very well. I love the consistency of the product and find it very blendable and melts into the skin well. Does have scent - smells a bit like roses. While this is not my ideal shade (23), I ordered one shade lighter and I think that will be perfect (21). I do find this shade a better match for cool or neutral skin tone, rather than those who run warm. This product is my perfect everyday makeup - just enough coverage, skincare + sunscreen! ... show more

  • A solid choice
Size: 1.69 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: No.21 (Light Beige)
I've been using this BB Cream for a few weeks now, and it's definitely earned its spot in my daily routine. The lightweight formula feels comfortable on my skin, and the light beige tint provides a nice touch of coverage without feeling heavy or cakey. I appreciate the added SPF 42 protection, although I do wish it had a slightly higher SPF for extra reassurance. While it does a good job of evening out my skin tone and minimizing the appearance of blemishes, I've noticed that it doesn't always last all day, especially in warmer weather. Overall, it's a reliable option for achieving a natural, radiant look, but there may be room for improvement in terms of longevity and sun protection. ... show more

  • Lives Up to the Hype!
Size: 1.69 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Color: No.23 (Natural Beige)
This is my “find” for 2024. A moisturizer with a high SPF, tinted, provides great moisturizer & coverage. The coverage is not too heavy, it looks natural. I have dry skin and it moisturize as well for me without leaving me looking shiny. I am pretty fair skinned and I opted for shade 23. It adds a tad bit of color, but it’s not too dark although I will probably try shade 21 next time for fall. These are just tinted so the color is quite flexible & forgiving unlike a true foundation. And the price. Wow. Totally worth it. ... show more
