  • Great Mic
Bought to tune an Audison Forza M5.11 car amplifier and it worked perfectly. Comes with a calibration file that you can upload directly into Audison bitdrive software. Very easy plug-and-play setup.

  • Does better than expected!!!!
I bought an Emotiva XMC-1 Processor about 7 months ago. Amongst that I have an svs ultra tower 7.1 surround system and an svspb4000 sub. Nice setup or so I thought. The mic that came with the from emotiva would give too many varying results and too many disappointing playback results especially way too light in the sub area almost every time. I decided to try the ECM8000 from Behringer becuz it was cheaper @ $55 instead of UMIK-1@ $100. The ECM800 $55, driver $45, phantom power $25 and last but not least hdmi $8 total of $133 dollars. The ecm8000 did a flat response, but again the sub was too lean until I went into Dirac and changed the sub settings which didn't sound the best. Not bad though. I was not happy with dirac so far. I could send all the extra sh#$t for the ecm8000 back except the mic. If anyone has an emotiva $2500 processor or higher price. Get the umik-1. The emotiva mic was way too sensitive so when it runs dirac it wants to turn the sub way lean. Tweaking it every calibration gets old but , I could get it humpin. Now the UMIK-1 was a whole new ball game. First calibration made adjustments to dirac. Im just used to do n that. Played some movies and music sounded good but, I wanted to play more. Went to dirac omg my file didn't save. 2 nights later I ran dirac again with the umik-1....same results again. I decided not to touch the sub section this time and just give a whirl Wow..what a world of a whirl it turned out to be. This mic is less sensitive so there for it needs the subs to be present and it is very much present. It picks up down to 8hz or so. It sounds like a real movie theater now. I missed all of this thunder and over all detail for what!!! Minidsp offers other sound correction programs and how to set up guides. I think it's a very nice touch for " just buying" their mic. ... show more

  • This mic is awesome for audio tuning.
I wanted an audio control mic but they’re hard to get rn and kind of expensive, so I bought this one. I was a bit nervous purchasing this as I’ve never heard of this brand and it’s quite a bit cheaper than its audio control counterpart. But my worry was very quickly wiped away. It’s super easy to set up, as you literally just plug the microphone into whatever recording device you’re using (in my case it was a dell laptop) and go, no apps needed. I bought a downloadable spectrum analyzer from True RTA and I had no issues with compatibility. I used the included tripod to station the mic right in the most center listening point for my gf and I. After a couple hours of listening and tuning in my living room, my surround sound has absolutely come to life (and it already sounded good before)! My girlfriend said she feels like she’s at a concert or at the movies and she never notices the changes I make to any of my systems. Idk how much better the Audio Control one would’ve faired compared to this one, but I definitely got my moneys worth just using it in my living room. ... show more

  • Works great.
Worked great for configuring Dirac on my Denon.

  • Great mic at a good price, but included cable too short for most
I am using this USB measurement microphone with Amarra Symphony software for IRC room calibratilon and correction. For that purpose, this mic works extremely well and at lower cost than almost any other option. Every mic sold comes with its own unique calibratilon profile that can be downloaded using your serial number. The one quibble I have is with the length of the included USB cable. I sit about 9 feet from my front speakers, which is also where my media server is located. I can't picture sitting much closer, yet the cable isn't quite long enough. I can use the microphone without the case and I can use it without the included tripod, but I can't use it without a sufficient cable. ... show more

  • Plug and play
Nice, high quality mic. Sturdy and calibration makes use of REW a breeze.

  • Quality Mic that easily integrated with REW
There is a lamp in the mic that notifies you its connected to USB. The calibration data was easily accessed from their site when using the serial number of the microphone. It integrated easily with Room Equalizer Wizard (REW) and the calibration table loads directly into REW. The USB cable is nice and long, about 15', allowing long reach in the room. The mic and its stand are all metal construction suggesting the high quality of the design. The mic has a nice snug fit into its holder without need for clamps. One annoying feature of the mic is that that threaded hole for mounting to the tripod is a non standard size and will not fit a standard camera tripod. . ... show more

  • Excellent!
For a budget DSP mic you cannot beat the price performance. So easy to setup and use to calibrate your AVR room correction. Highly recommended!
