Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I'm super impressed how well this mini computer works! I actually had some doubts it might perform satisfactorily, but just decided to just try it out. In a nutshell, it is speedy for what it offers, but of course slower in certain computing tasks for what you'd get in much faster computers nowadays. But for less than $150? Not bad at all! The speed is most sufficient for its intended use - entertainment and light word processing in my use case scenario. But before settling on this particular mini PC, I looked up other mini PCs on Amazon just to research what all they offered in terms of hardware specs and overall value. I settled on this one because of the type of processor and its speed for the overall cost. I liked this unit's Intel Celeron processor for its faster speeds (but with the energy efficiency of other lower end processors) so things don't get overheated in this small mini PC form factor - and yet it offers higher power and speed than a processor like the Atom (found in other mini PCs advertised). I've only sometimes heard some fans activate briefly whenever I've started up this computer. It became warm at most, never hot, and never with constantly spinning fans (because the processor is so energy efficient anyway). So when I looked up the specs surrounding the Intel Celeron processor N3060 at 14nm, I saw it debuted in April of 2015, so it's definitely an older processor. But what I liked was its integrated Intel HD Graphics 400 GPU, which is not powerful enough to handle modern 3D games, but definitely supports 4K/H.265 video acceleration - great for watching HD or 4K movies, youtube videos, and hooking it up to your TV or monitors. I was okay with regular Windows and not Windows Pro, since I believe the only difference between the OS versions is in the security options offered - I'm using this computer mostly for entertainment and basic use anyway. Not for professional needs. It even has an SD card slot to add more storage, plus you can upgrade the SSD (some instructions are in the manual) to get more storage this way too - upgrading storage would allow you to hold more movies and files than the standard 64GB. Especially if it becomes a portable device for you. Speaking of portability, this thing is very light and small to carry around the house. You can attach it via HDMI cable to your TVs or computer monitors to serve as your rapidly expanding and versatile entertainment system for your home. I never realized mini PCs fulfilled that market niche before. Logging into my Windows account was super speedy. Fast set up. Everything was synced on this computer with my Microsoft account and files from One Drive. Initially when I was using the computer, it was a bit laggy and the apps and its windows wouldn't load up fast enough. I thought maybe it was a RAM issue, but then realized all the Windows updates weren't done. I did the Windows 10 updates and the performance of this computer was now in line with what I was expecting. Typing was good, not laggy, too. Videos loaded up much faster in browsers. And I could load multiple windows without the lag of before. So something to keep in mind if the computer is not working optimally at the outset. But don't expect this computer to load all images instantaneously at once like your regular full fledged computer. When Logged in to MS Office, I can do light word processing, it's very convenient. But I noticed that typing on both my wired usb mechanical keyboard and my bluetooth K380 Logitech keyboard in Microsoft Word (on the browser) has created a little bit of lag (noticeable but not impeding my work flow). Maybe it's a Microsoft server issue? However, typing anywhere else, outside the Microsoft server/website, proved to be fine on this computer. I tested both the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports with my USB-wired mechanical keyboard and it performed fine. I've been watching some Pink Panther videos and nature videos. Very immersive, no lag or breaks in streaming. Super impressed! Highly recommend this mini PC. I think I would have a little bit more peace of mind if there was more RAM, like 8GB, but other than that and ensuring you update your Windows 10, all should work smoothly. This mini PC has what it takes to do the job that many would be looking to accomplish in something its size. It isn't going to the ideal option to try to game with, but it does offer a fantastic option for digital signage (tucked behind a TV on a show flow) or connecting to the living room TV for movie nights, or simple work stations both at home or at work. The major selling points of this one? 1) 8GB of system memory for one. It isn't the fastest RAM out there, which is common in these mini PCs. However, it is the right quantity for running any Windows 10 environment. Sure, you can run Windows 10 with 4GB of RAM, but you will lose some hair doing it. 8GB is the bare minimum for the best experience in our opinion. It is not upgradable though, that is the only downside. Many of these mini PCs feature embedded memory, which is unfortunate. The processor is embedded as well, but that is almost always the case no matter the brand or price (with mini PCs). 2) Bluetooth 5.0 for better quality audio and solid connectivity between devices. Also, more bandwidth when it comes to data/compression levels. 3) Triple displays that actually works. Well, if you maintain some kind of self-control at least. Dual-display at 4K@60 is hard enough on the system. If you run three monitors (two via HDMI and one via USB-C), you will likely want to keep the resolution at 1080p so that the CPU can breathe enough for everything else Windows is doing and the other applications running. 4) An SSD is included inside. Given, it is SATA M.2 (not NVMe) and only 128GB. However, it's enough to get your C drive going and they do provide you another M.2 slot for a secondary, oh wait, NVMe drive. So you CAN use an NVMe, it just doesn't come with one. So two M.2 slots, one SATA (provided), and the other NVMe. They mention you can also install a 2.5" SATA SSD, but we can't find a way to do that. There is a slot for a ribbon, but no ribbon supplied. So that is up in the air at the moment. Everything else is what you'd expect a mini PC of this price to have and a little more than that. Neat! It performs fast enough although we have seen slightly better processors available in others (given, some of them are a tad more in cost). We liked this one! Update: This is just an FYI/observance that hasn't affected the score. However, this little PC does not support normal booting priority selection from a USB drive it seems (within BIOS). This could be a deal killer for some, so something to keep in mind. You can try booting via Windows' recover menu---via Settings->Recovery screen where you can choose to "use a device" where it could sometimes work. Got this to run my home arcade and it's great. Wish it had more storage than 64Mb but it is easy to add more with an SSD NvME so really can't complain too much about that. Simple set up and perfectly quiet. This would be a great addition to a smart tv where you want to do web surfing, email, and play some simple games. Don't think this will run Cyberpunk 2077 but if you're wanting to run games of this caliber, you need to build a better box. This PC is simple and effective. I ordered this bmax mini computer because we wanted to hook up a computer to our 4K TV. This PC has all the needed basics built in, and plenty of ports for extras. It comes with one HDMI port, one VGA Port. The power cord is a bit short but enough to reach our TV stand. We plugged the PC into the HDMI port on the back of the TV, choose that HDMI source, and from there the Windows built-in assistant, Cortana, walked us step-by-step through the set-up. I purchased this mini PC to enable video calls (Skype and Zoom) from the comfort of our living room. My young children (2 and 4) are much more interactive with their grandparents on the big screen than in front of a computer. I was able to attach to the rear of TV with included mounting bracket. Connect a webcam and you're ready to video call. I had previously tried using an Android TV box for this purpose, but find the video and audio quality are much better on this windows machine using the same web cam.
