    • Couple of minor things to keep in mind
3.5 stars On the whole, I would say this is a pretty nice mattress for a mini crib. Note that it is too small for a standard crib, so don't accidentally order it for that. And while it was the correct length for my mini playpen, it was too narrow by a couple of inches, so make sure to measure the space, rather than assume that this should work. In the minicrib I have, it fits just fine. There was no initial odor, although this is not uncommon with foam products, and it did fluff right back out to its proper dimensions upon opening. However I'm disappointed to see that, after several days out of the packaging, the central fold has yet to fill out. The company says to give a few days, so I waited, but it's been a week, and my mattress is still shaped like a shallow V. I'm not sure whether the firm side of the mattress is as firm as it's supposed to be for an infant, but it's certainly softer than the sleeping surfaces I'm used to seeing in bassinets, cribs, or playpens. If you're purchasing this for a toddler, though, that's a non-issue. Personally, I would have preferred a plain, white cover, rather than a printed one whose pattern will 'bleed through,' so to speak, and be visible from beneath most baby sheets, but it is removable, so if that's an issue, I suppose one could simply leave it off. Overall, there wasn't anything in particular that made it stand out to me as exceptional, but neither would I claim that it's a poor product. I ordered this from Amazon for my twin who are not born yet. I just opened the package and left it for 2 days to flattened. it flattened eventually but not completely and I had to use it for my older daughter who is 4 years old to sleep on it for a few nights to flatten perfectly. it looks ok now. First of all the mattress came with a beautiful pattern on its waterproof cover which I liked most. it matches my babies bedroom theme as well. Second, the thickness of the mattress was not what I expected. I expected to get a bit thicker but it is not. Third, the mattress firmness is ok. Since I want to use it for newborns, I had to get a pretty firm mattress because of safety and this one looks standard. Forth, the waterproof cover is washable and I could easily take it off and wash it once. the quality of cover didn't change and it still fit the mattress. I am taking one star off just because I expected to get a thicker mattress and it is a bit thinner than what it should be. All in all, I can summarize my review into these points: Positive: 1) Beautiful pattern and high quality waterproof and washable cover. 2) Firm enough to be safe for newborn babies. 3) size is fit with my baby crib. I thought this would be a higher quality bed for the two new pups. It is perfect so far. The mattress has a waterproof cover and a removable washable cover. This is two stage foam compared to a lot of the dog beds which are simple egg crate type foam that makes them look plush, but are not really orthopedic. Even for a couple puppies. I ordered one of these mattresses to try with my twins. They have had the standard, waterproof, basic mattress for the past 2 years. I just ordered a second one since I was so pleased with the first one. The mattress came rolled up. I opened the packaging, let it unroll and sit flat for 24+ hours. It never flattened completely but I figured that it would flatten eventually with a kid sleeping on it for naps and bedtime. It did flatten after another day or two of sleeping on it. I love that it's not noisy like the previous waterproof mattresses when the kids are rolling around. It seems comfortable. It's not labeled which side is more firm/less firm. This is a great mini crib mattress. After using the thin plastic one that came with my baby's crib, this mattress feels luxurious by comparison. She's 16 months old and about 25 lbs so the softer side is perfect for her. She sleeps well in general, and has continued to sleep peacefully since we started using it. At first, the mattress had a definite crease in the middle. There was no odor at all though which was great. I set it out for about 7 hours and it fluffed right up pretty quickly. While there was still a slight crease down the middle, we decided to use it anyway the first night and it seems to have flattened out even more and fully gained its shape in 48 hours. It fits snugly in our Delta Children Folding Mini Crib. The waterproof protective cover that comes on it is soft and doesn't make any noise when she moves around. I washed and dried the cover before use, per care instructions, and it held up completely fine. I'm not a fan of the design on the cover since the pattern shows through most sheets. I'd prefer if it was a solid color, but that's definitely not a dealbreaker for me. I did try a different mattress protector for a night that I already had, just to test it, and it fits great too. Overall this mattress: - Fits our crib snugly. - Is secure and safe without any big gaps. - Feels soft and comfortable. - The cover washes easily. - The mattress and cover do not make noise when moving around.
