  • Top Notch Espresso Scale- especially for the price.
Style: Tiny2S Mini
I make 3 lattes a day with this and use it to weigh my milk, pre ground beans and shot of espresso as it comes out. It has helped me to dial in shots perfectly. I do not need the timer because my machine has a built in timer. I see no need to. buy anything else and am considering buying one for a backup because it's that good! Regarding the battery, I have used this one battery cycle so far, and the battery has lasted me about 1 month and 2 weeks on a single charge. It's still going, but is now letting me know that it needs a recharge. ... show more

  • This is the only one we keep it.
Style: Classic 2.0
We had ordered 3 different scales from Amazon. We are trying to find the one similar to that we used to use before. This is the one we keep it. I knew the other reviewer’s opinion for this item is too much sensitive. When I opened box and tried it. The screen jiggled a lot. Then I figured out that was because my cooling fan was blowing to me. That means this scale is really qualify for even a breeze can effectively make it working properly. Then we start to use for our coffee dripper. The timer for starting drippings is a very convenient feature. That makes us a easy way to make a good coffee. We are so happy with this scale. ... show more

  • Seems pretty nice
Style: Tiny2S Mini
I've never had a coffee scale before, this one seems rather nice. The directions were in the form of a clear sticker with words stuck directly to the scale, rather than a separate manual. I suppose I should stick it to a piece of paper or something so I can still reference them. I like that it has an auto timer too, for pour overs n' the like, though I haven't tried that part out yet. It'll be nice to have around for coffee measuring and even for cooking measurements, as some recipes measure some things by weight. ... show more

  • At least the manual is decent
Style: Tiny2S Mini
Good: Manual / instructions. It does appear to function as intended for weighs and measures. Slide on/off switch does appear to totally disconnect power so perhaps you could have this stored for a long time without concern for draining the battery? Mid: User interface requires using the weighing surface of the scale as a touch screen. Silicone pad as separate part is given so the scale does not need to be constructed of proper materials that would withstand heat. Bad: non-captive silicone USB-C port cover, designed to not be usable while charging, included USB-C cable is fake non standards-compliant just using the connector(s) for 5Vdc. ... show more

  • A decent if not identical copy of the Acaia Pearl
Style: Tiny2S Mini
When I made pour-over coffee in the past I didn't pay much attention to it. I'd dump a few spoons of coffee grinds into the filter, dump a pot of water in, and wonder what the hype was about. It wasn't until one day I went to a street fair and bought a really, really expensive bag of coffee beans that I started to understand. The shop owner was also an expert barista, so I asked him how I would prepare the beans for use in a machine. After scraping his jaw off the ground, he explained to me that for the finest coffee beans, the best method is pour-over. He had an Acaia Pearl Scale, which was (and I believe still is) made in Taiwan. Acaia started in 2013 from a Kickstarter campaign and has quickly become the favorite of professional baristas worldwide. I watched as he wet the filter, added the grounds, and added water to let the coffee bloom. Then, after about 45 seconds he started pouring the water in continuous circles, making sure his pour was consistent and that he was using the right amount of water (you generally want to use 15 grams of water to every gram of coffee). It took a while, but the resulting cup of coffee was the best I ever tasted. This scale—as well as other off-brand scales like it you see on Amazon—looks like it pretty much copies the Acaia design, from the small and sleek form factor, to the digital display, to features such as setting up a timer and zeroing out the scale. Even the silicone cover to protect it is an idea borrowed from Acaia. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" applies. The original Acaia Pearl (which you may be able to find on Amazon; if you, you can visit their site) is much more responsive and much more accurate than this model, and the newest Acaia models have innovations like a flow rate indicator and the ability to be read in bright light. At $150 the Acaia is certainly expensive, but with it you get high-quality components, manufacturing, and service. Ironically, in copying the design of the Acaia Pearl, they also copied a lot of its annoyances. It took me a while to figure out that I had to unplug the charging cable in order for the unit to turn on. Also, the lack of buttons, while certainly sleek, can get really confusing; you need to keep the manual on hand to make sure you're pressing the right parts of the unit to operate it. If you're like me and just dabble in coffee making as a hobby, a scale like this is perfectly fine. I honestly don't have any expectations that it'll last more than a few years or be anything more than a novelty, but for my purposes that works just fine. ... show more

  • Useful, functional, portable
Style: Tiny2S Mini
So this is a relatively light, tiny scale designed specifically for coffee, but can be used to measure anything of that size and scale. There's a convenient little silicon holder to keep your beans from rolling off. A nice feature is the protective plastic peel-off has labels as to what all the buttons do and where they all are. It's so useful, I stuck it back onto my scale after peeling it off so that I don't have to pull out the manual. The silicon bean holder has little gaps so you can pour out the beans after measuring (very convenient) and it's still going on its initial charge it came with after intermittent use for a week or so. Overall, handy and easily portable if you're particular about your coffee. ... show more

  • Compact and feature rich
Style: Tiny2S Mini
Pros : Accurate, rechargeable, very compact, timer feature, sleek design. Cons: The controls are not intuitive unless you use the scale daily.

  • Seems to be accurate
Style: Tiny2S Mini
Different timer modes for trying to dial in that process. I use it for pour over, so I can't comment on how consistent it is for espresso
