  • A great second drill/driver--powerful and with well-thought-out features
I bought this to replace a Skil "IXO2" electric screwdriver. I wanted something with more torque than the Skil driver, which had trouble driving screws into hardwood. I wanted it to be smaller than an electric drill, in order to fit into tight places. And I wanted a replaceable battery (the Skill driver's was soldered in). This driver has plenty of torque! I have yet to find a screw it can't drive home. While it's not as petite as the Skil driver, this is significantly smaller than a typical power drill. (That's partly due to the 1/4" hex chuck, which is much less bulky than a standard three-jawed adjustable chuck.) And unlike most cordless drills, it doesn't have a fat battery bulge at the bottom of the handle. It's almost perfectly balanced and feels great in the hand. The kit I bought included the driver, two batteries, a charger, and a sturdy but needlessly bulky case. I threw the case away--it takes up twice as much room as necessary. A bag would have been much more useful. There are some nice touches here that show Milwaukee engineers put some real thought into the tool. For example, when you start to squeeze the trigger, a bright white LED lights up your work area BEFORE the motor starts to turn. This makes it easy to get the screwdriver bit into the screw head, or position a twist drill. (I use Milwaukee's hex-shank drill set.) At the same time, the battery gauge lights up to show how much charge remains. The white LED remains on for about five seconds after you release the trigger, then turns off. Also, the adjustable torque ring is separate from the screwdriver/drill setting, so you can set the torque to whatever you like and then switch back and forth between drilling and screwing, without having to re-find your ideal torque setting each time. While you might prefer a heftier model as your primary drill/driver (I use the Ryobi 18V One+ series), this Milwaukee unit makes a great second drill/driver. Having two drill/drivers speeds up work tremendously when you're alternately drilling and countersinking or drilling and driving screws. ... show more

  • Little Big Monster!
This thing is what was missing when I am on the job!! I absolutely love the chuck, switching bits could never be any easier! The power, variable speed and clutch works absolutely flawless being it does not strip any screws. I would recommend this drill to all my friends and family. Even though I have not had it for a while (2 days) I already know this little big monster is going to last. I got hooked when I was being trained using the old m12, but when the fuel line came out, I had to buy it! I loved Milwaukee's 1/2 Fuel m18 Impact, I knew I have to have a Milwaukee tool line up. ... show more

  • Tired of lifting my very nice and powerful 20V DEWALT driver I decided to give ...
Tired of lifting my very nice and powerful 20V DEWALT driver I decided to give this a try. The Milwaukee has proven to be plenty powerful for aircraft screw removal and lasts for hours. With two batteries it would be hard to find your self with no charge in a normal day. I like the 1/4" hex as I use this primarily for fastener removal. If I need a drill I can use a different tool however you can buy hex drill bits if desired. I find the grip very comfortable for my large hands, if you have smaller hands you might not like the in grip battery arrangement. I prefer it for this function as it keeps the tool more compact. The light and the battery gauge are nice features. The variable trigger has nice feel to it and the torque settings function well. I even like the belt clip, makes it easy to hang it off a pocket when handling overhead panels after you get that last fastener out. All my cordless tools are now brushless with lithium-ion batteries, so much better than the old brushed NiCad powered tools. They run seemingly for ever and do not self drain when left alone for a few days. Smaller, lighter, more powerful, whats not to like! ... show more

  • Must if you're driving/loosening/tightening - Makes work day so much better.
One hand chuck is beyond awesome, click out insert bit & boom one handed done. Brush-less motor lets battery last forever. Not sure about the hanging clip on it, seems balanced but it's awkward for me on my tool belt. Otherwise it's Milwaukee and you know it's good quality materials and build. Clutch works great on small hardware, lights up the area well enough, good balance and light in your hand. ... show more

  • the quick and easy hex system is for you
This is as capable as any chuck drill, with the hex drill bits. If you have issues with tighten up a standard chuck, the quick and easy hex system is for you. Having 18 clutch settings, a drill setting and 1st and 2nd gears,in my opinion it is top notch. Very happy, light, 12 volt, powerful ,easy to use. ... show more

  • Nice little screw gun
Nice little screw gun. Wish the lowest torque setting could be a little lower but it can be controlled with trigger... Surprising power in a small package and a lot less bulky than my 18 volt drills. Very happy overall, just wish it wasn't made in China.

  • Buy this Driver!!!
Very satisfied with this driver. I upgraded from the single speed model so I would be able to do light drilling with one tool. It performs very well as a drill, though you need a set of 1/4 drive drill bits and drilling will drain a battery fairly quickly. Very compact, versatile and stands up to Milwaukee quality. Larger capacity batteries are available if you don't mind the bulkiness, but the ones that come with the kit charge in about 30 minutes. Fits great tool bags. ... show more
