It really does look and sound like something fluttering around and they spend a lot of time "hunting" One in particular has a really high prey drive and he goes nuts when we bring it out. The material of the tunnel is a bit thin and ours is full of claw holes, but after around 3 months of heavy use, it's still in great condition and going strong. The little orb is rechargeable, not battery operated which is great because I'd be spending a fortune on batteries. The little attachments are holding up better than I thought and each cat has a favorite so I switch them often. Overall really happy with it! ... show more

I’ve had this for about two days. Took her a day to get used to it and show interest. She loves it - and it’s been good to keep her busy, but fair warning - if your tiny one chews - she’s already done a number on the tiny opening in the one side, trying to get the “bird” out!

Toy doesn't fall apart, designed well. Battery has a longer life and product way more than the similar hummingbird toys, which is more realistic but falls apart and runs out of battery in a day or two.

The media could not be loaded. My cat loves this toy. He’s destroyed two of the three attachments over time. I’m really disappointed to see this advertised as having replacement parts, but they aren’t sold. I bought this over 6 months ago and there still aren’t replacement parts available. The toy is also slightly loud. It’s enough I can ignore but it definitely bothers my boyfriend so I think it depends on the person ... show more

If your (fur) baby has MEDIUM or LONG HAIR please be aware of what just happened to our beautiful long-hair cat. This toy has a METAL HOOK at the base of the spin arm. The spinning hook not only caused mild lacerations to Gracie’s skin but it also caught her fur, spinning and pulling her fur into the center of the unit; wrapping Gracie’s fur/skin so tightly the unit could no longer move. The toy had literally lashed itself to her underbelly. That’s when panic hit. I hadn’t seen it happen, I was a few feet away (due to toy injuries reported online, I never leave pets unattended with automated toys). Gracie began to yowl. She was terrified, unable to move with the large toy lashed to her underbelly; her big green eyes wide with fear “Mommy help me!” I was scared too — it happened so fast. I spotted her on the floor, attempting to walk. That’s when I realized the entire toy was somehow lashed to her body, severely limiting her movement. I felt around and was grateful to feel only minor cuts from the hook; then I realized a large chunk of fur and skin were trapped inside the center of the unit. Since both skin and fur were trapped, I could not use scissors — my only option was to PULL her fur out as gently as I could. Fortunately, 2-3 pulls cleared enough fur to allowed the remaining skin/fur to slide right out. A few days and she’ll be all healed (physically). I never thought this would happen to us. I don’t leave Gracie unattended with automated toys (thank goodness for that!), I always check new purchases for safety before putting them out, I even comb thru reviews to ensure we don’t buy potentially harmful products … yet this one still slipped through :-( It’s a shame this toy injured and terrified my cat, because for two wonderful hours (the time between opening the box and her being injured) she absolutely LOVED this toy. So I will try a different brand, as there are SIMILAR TOYS on Amazon where the arm attachment is a solid disk that spins at the top; not a spin arm you stick into a hole with an exposed metal hook on the end. This toy uses two AA batteries (not included) while another, that I have, is USB rechargeable. Both will keep running until the cats stop playing with them and will start up again when knocked around. This one has a 12-ish inch long wand with a few different wand tip toys, i.e. a butterfly, a ball, and a feather. The rechargeable one has similar tip toys, but has a longer wand (about 18+ inches). One of my cats prefers the longer wand while the other likes the shorter one. These two are brother and sister and are about 11 years old. I prefer this one with the shorter wand and an easy to use slide switch on the bottom since both cats enjoy playing with it. And, as EVERY cat parent knows, it is ALL about the CAT!
