This is a great training collar, we currently had the same brand but leather for the last 2 years and had to replace due to normal wear tear and stretching. We opted for the nylon this time to avoid stretching out. I did measure the neck and our dog was right at 16 inches so we originally ordered a medium according to the size chart but had to exchange for the large even though the measurements are an inch larger than our dog so I would suggest sizing up if the measurements are close. ... show more

The buckle broke. While it lasted it was a great collar and my dog really started to walk well on his leash. The separate hook for everyday hook ups (potty time) was great. BUT he pulled too hard and the collar gave way. 115lb Black Lab/Red Tick Coonhound. He’s a strong boy!!

This collar recommended by a supposed “expert dog trainer” proved to be highly ineffective and dangerous during a walk with my Rottweiler, as it failed to restrain him when approached by two aggressive dogs. The endorsement of these bogus products by so called dog trainers for personal financial gain without any regard for others raises concerns about their credibility and integrity. This cheap collar may work for a chihuahua or other smaller dogs but not large dogs that can easily break out of a poorly made product. My dog's neck is 16 so I got the medium. (14.25in-17.5in) It's too tight. I cannot slip my finger underneath on the loosest setting. My dog has many collars, harnesses, bandanas, and even a few outfits that fit following her 16in neck. This is the first thing that hasn't. I might get the large because the grey matched her new grey harness perfectly and I wanted something to use gentler than her prong collar at times. The only reason I hesitate is because maybe I'm just used to her small chain on her hermsprenger, but this chain was bigger and heavier than expected. ... show more
