  • Great leash! Although I prefer the Mighty Paw 4-foot leash over the 3-foot leash.
Size: 36" Color: Black
Initially I wasn't thrilled about this leash. I bought it because I run 5k races with my 65lb dog and wanted something hands free. This leash is 36-inches, which gives your dog enough room to run BY YOUR SIDE. If you like your dog to run in front of you then you'll find this leash to be too short, as I have and was constantly kicking the back of my dogs paws until he ran by my side. However,I find this leash is GREAT for walks. Mighty Paw does make a 48-inch version which I'm absolutely in love with! It's just long enough to run with your dog in front of you without accidentally kicking them. I did originally by an extender for the 3-foot leash, but find that the extra metal clip really weighs it down. From here on I'll review both leashes since I already mentioned the only difference. At first I thought the waist strap/belt would be uncomfortably, but I find it to be comfortable when running and very easy to adjust. It has a plastic quick release buckle (great safety feature!) and 2 metal loops, one sewn in near the buckle, then other you can adjust to place anywhere on the belt by sliding it. This is an excellent feature because you can take your dog off-leash and clip the extra end to the second loop. That way you can walk around with the leash hanging at your side and still remain hands free! This works great for trail running and still works well with the 4-foot leash even though it is slightly longer. The leash part itself has 2 metal clip ends which makes it very versatile. One end has bungee all the way down to the clip, the other end has a ~10 inch section of flat doubled leash so when you stop at a road or people are passing, you can reach down and use it as a handle to keep your dog really close to your side. Another function I love! This way I don't have a dog pulling me by bungee to greet people or other dogs. The bungee is protected by an outer layer that has reflective stitching throughout. At first glance it looks dull, but light reflects off it very well. The bungee is VERY STRONG. it has just enough give so if your dog takes off after a squirrel it won't snap like a regular leash, instead it will offer enough resistance to protect you and slow your dog down. My dog's first experience he found he could grab the leash in his mouth, jump off to the side really hard then let the bungee bounce him back into me. He played yo-yo like this for a good 15 mins, I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand! Again my dog is 65lbs, so yes it's a strong bungee and doesn't have any signs of being out-stretched. Bottom line: Mighty Paw made an awesome leash! If you like your dog by your side, buy the 3-foot. If you like him running ahead of you, wait until the 4-foot leash is on sale (I think at the end of this month?). ... show more

  • Strong and sturdy, good for walks with a stroller
Size: 48" (Most Popular) Color: Orange
Made out of good material, it's held up well with normal, daily usage. It's nice to be hands-free, but it also has two handles (one at each end) if you need to control your pooch a little more! I like the bungee function as well. For all the mama's, this is a really good way to walk your baby and dog at the same time! ... show more

  • A Running Game Changer!
Size: 48" (Most Popular) Color: Black
I LOVE this hands-free leash! My 50-pound standard poodle and I hit the road for our first run of the season today and this leash has changed everything for us! Our run was so enjoyable compared to last year! In fact, I had stopped running with her because it was just too cumbersome trying to hold her leash and keep her at a safe distance. This leash is AMAZING! A total game changer. The strap that goes around your waist is very comfortable. It is slim and durable, which allows me to also wear my iPhone strap around my waist without feeling bulky. I wore it a bit loosely and my dog was able to switch sides safely during walking intervals. The buckles also pivot, which allow you and your dog to turn and maneuver corners/crossings carefully, in sync. The bungee worked so well in keeping her in line with me and I had no issues whatsoever with being "pulled along". The leash is very well made and feels strong and sturdy while you are running hands-free. I never once felt nervous. The hand strap is awesome for when you need to reel your dog in close (we run in the city and it can get busy). The buckles on each side allow for multipurpose uses (hands-free or hand-held leash) and can quickly attach to and release from your dog. In addition to all these features, I was able to easily attach our "poop transporter" (the fun stuff - NOT!) to the leash so that it was not a nuisance. This product was thoughtfully and carefully packaged, arrived quickly and the company went above and beyond to reach out and ensure that I was pleased with my purchase. What more could I say? I love, love, LOVE this leash :) ... show more

  • Only hands-free bungee I've found that can hold up to malamute-strength pulling
Size: 48" (Most Popular) Color: Green
Most bungee leads I've tried stretch out and lose their elasticity pretty quickly when used with large, strong pullers (looking at you, Ruffwear!). This MightyPaw leash has a much better strength bungee that stays stretchy. I also like that it's convertible so you can use it like a regular handled leash, or use hands-free with the included belt. And the traffic handle is pretty much a necessity for my dog. The traffic handle is stitched in such a way that when it's being pulled the force is not pulling the stitches apart which has also been a problem with other brands - you just have to make sure you hook the right end to the dog. :) All in all a great hands free bungee option; my only complaints (and the reason for docking a star) are that 1 - I wish it was maybe 1 ft longer, and 2 - I wish it came in more neutral color such as black or gray. That said it's still my go to for hiking or snowshoe adventures where I want hands free control! ... show more

  • Not for dogs over 130lbs.
Size: 48" (Most Popular) Color: Black
The product says dogs up to 150lbs. My puppy is between 130lbs and 150lbs. He hasn't had his 11month weigh in but he was 130lbs at 10months old. I've had this leash since early September. It's now early December. This leash broke multiple times, causing my pup to get loose and run up by the highway. First the piece you move that opens/closes the clip snapped off on his end. So then I hooked a climbing strength carabiner through the bottom part. Well now that snapped too. I can't even find it because it broke into multiple pieces and scattered in the snow. Chasing an energetic puppy away from a highway in the dark at 8:30pm in a snow storm was NOT on my bucket list. If your dog isn't very big, go for it. Just don't grab the leash if they pull cuz it will slice right through your skin. ... show more
