For my son's engineering unit in science this year, we added this kit to his projects and experiments. He had an absolute blast with it! It is very well designed and he loved how he could see how it all worked when put together. The wooden pieces just get popped out of the boards, then assembled following the well written clear directions. It was truly mezmerizing to watch and my son even tried several different obstacle configurations to work with it, including some minifigs. The media could not be loaded. My 7-year-old asked Santa for an electric marble run for Christmas, and well those aren’t exactly abundant. So, despite building not being my thing, I took a chance on this. I must first say that the instructions are entirely lacking for anyone not accustomed to assembling model thingies, e.g. you have to figure out that the G1 pieces are like little nails that have to be hammered down flush with the surface, and there is no “hey make sure your gears move like so before nailing them down to the base.” In fact, the instructions don’t have words at all. So I ended up having to take lots of things apart when I got to the end and it was a giant fail. My two biggest problems were 1, the axle for the bucket had to be replaced with a smaller caliber pin to move freely and 2, the ($&@/“) elevator stuck at the top of the shaft. Would have been helpful to know that the part on the left (see video) needs to be loose to fall after every cycle, and if it’s not, pull out something heavy duty (forget the little file they provide) to relieve the friction. Fast forward many hours, a ton of sanding, and several drinks later—it’s alive!! We are totally going to paint it now. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought it for my children. I feel this is good to get creativity. I and children also have fun by using it. I mostly like that it can be run manually and also through battery. Here is some of the pros and cons which I feel after using it. Pros:- • It has an instruction book, by using instruction book it is easy to build by reading instruction. All parts are fixed in many frames, you have to detach from each frame, also each frame has alphabet so you can identify each part by using book. You can help your children and give ideas to improve their creativity. • It is made of wood, and the edge of each part is smooth so there is less chance to hurt you when fixing it. Material quality is adequate. • All required tools are given in the box to build it. • 10 marbles are in the package, so enough for use and fun. • After making it, you can keep it in showcase in drawing room and can use in decoration of the party. • This is one of the best gift to children. Cons:- • Box does not have batteries. • It’s is made of wooded, so it has little bit more weight. ... show more

I am a 29 year old grown man who has built many things like this and even larger and seemingly more difficult with no issues . This kit needs to come with a warning. All the pieces fit so tightly. Lots of hammering and sanding and just total elbow grease rather than just glueing priecs together. It was fun for a little bit but dang I am several hours in and the instructions images and step orders are so boggled that I have made critical errors and I’m constantly trying to fix as I go. It feels like I am working on a vehicle smh. All I am saying is expect several hours of work ing on this damn kit minimum and lots of frustrating moments. I’d say “other than that, the machine is cool!” But I wouldn’t know. I’m still not even close to finished smh. ... show more

As an adult I expected it to be a fun and nice conversation piece two sets later they are both on their way back. It is made of decent quality wood though with the ones I received they easily broke also when both were finished the steps would not move freely which as someone who doesn’t have much mechanical experience made it impossible to get to work on either. Very clear instructions and incredibly precise parts. Tip: use sharping tool and test any moving assemblies before moving to the next step. Would definitely recommend!This was a fun build.
