I’ve use this fire starter a couple of times so far. After I got it all put together it’s perfect for my needs. I did not write durability yet because I have not had it long enough. But I know the material that it is made with and familiar with it and it should last a good while. I will not hesitate to purchase another one and recommend this for anybody that wants ease of starting a fire in their fire pit or fireplace. Install per instructions. Flame was tiny, maybe half an inch. Removed unit and found no drilled hole just have others have reported. Drilled hole, reinstalled with great flame. Only problem is gas escapes from the air mixing hole and a flame is present there. I don’t trust the safety of this product with the shutter open. Will run closed then look for something better next season. ... show more

The castings this burner screws into lasts for a long time. The pipes last a few seasons before burning in half. This replacement works well and was less expensive than replacement of the entire assembly. I anticipate it will last as long as previous burners.
