Pellets burned well no issues with the smoker but they seemed to burn faster that the normal pellets I use. I did not notice any flavor differences with the bourbon barrel pellets. Seems expensive for the performance I experienced - using a Yoder 640s.

I usually can't taste the difference from pellet to pellet or brand to brand. With this product, I certainly can. They impart a profound oak flavor and aroma which is especially suited to beef. this is a perfectly fine and enjoyable white oak pellet i'm quite happy with my purchase! BUT, let's get this uncomfortable truth out of the way. the concept that you're going to taste any "bourbon" flavor from ANY brand of "bourbon barrel" pellet (or chip or chunk) is a scientific improbability. it's just in too low in concentration, and burns off too quickly. i dont care if its midwest barrel, crown, jack, jim or whomever. you're just NOT going to taste any of the signature liquor flavor in a pellet. period. end of discussion. ... show more
