  • Well made and more elegant than the other options available. Win 11 has no problem recognizing it.
The only thing I would change is the bottom of this device. The bottom of the box is magnetic and that’s great, but it is also very smooth and tends to slide around a lot, especially when connected to a number of cables. I would either add stronger magnets to the box or I would coat the bottom of the box with some rubbery compound. ... show more

  • Great Alternative to the NZXT USB Expansion Hub
First off, I'm gonna mention I have 2x USB 2.0 headers on my motherboard and needed more (I'm running 5 headers currently). This is an expansion hub for one of those headers. I use them primarily for pumps and other expansion slots. Features: - USB 2.0 motherboard expansion hub - Internal USB A expansion - transparent acrylic - blue light to tell if it's on In the box: - Expansion hub - USB 2.0 9 pin header cable Pros: - USB 2.0 header expansion - can run off the motherboard power Cons: - the SATA power can short the board - the acrylic gets in the way of plugging in the USB 2.0 9 pin cables with notches I'm going to repeat what everyone else has said in here, "DO NOT PLUG IN THE SATA POWER, IT WILL SHORT THE BOARD." That being said, you can plug the hub straight into the motherboard and power comes with the USB 2.0 header. One out of the 4 USB 2.0 headers is a connection to the motherboard so you technically have 3 USB headers. I don't personally use the USB A slots so I can't tell you if they work or not. If you have USB 2.0 9 pin cables with notches in them, I'm letting you know right now they will not fit into this thing since the acrylic gets in the way. The design didn't account for a notch. I found out the hard way when trying to plug my notch 9 pin cable in. Luckily I had some without the notch and they fit in fine. This hub has a small magnet at the base but it's not very strong so don't expect it to stay in place when doing cable management. It also has a blue light to indicate that it's operating fine. This light can't be turned off. Overall, this is a good expansion hub for multiple reasons. It's in stock compared to the NZXT hub and cheaper in price. ... show more

  • Fixes Corsair Commander Pro USB issues on X570 boards
Another vote for "resolves issues with X570 boards and Corsair Commander Pro USB". As several others have mentioned, there is an issue with the USB controllers used on many X570 motherboards which cause Corsair Commander Pros to a) not function properly as USB passthrough for other RGB/fan hubs and b) really cause problems for other USB devices on the whole system. This internal hub was less expensive and more available than the NZXT hub that has been verified working so I decided to give it a try after reading other success stories. Previously, iCue could not see a Lighting Node when plugged into the Commander's USB passthrough. If I tested by plugging the Lighting Node into its own USB header, it worked, but I was short a header and other USB devices continued to frequently disconnect. For whatever reason, plugging this into a single mobo header and then plugging the Commander into one of the ports gets both the Commander working with USB passthrough and gets rid of the disconnects. I have no idea why this works. Maybe there's a built-in USB controller that plays nicely as a middleman between the mobo's controller and the Commander. Either way, after a day of testing, it now seems to work as advertised. I will also note that (as others have said) you do NOT want to plug in the SATA power in this situation. I'd read this advice and did not even try so I can't say if it would short this board as people claim. But I will say that it works without the SATA power connected so just skip it and avoid potential problems. ... show more

  • Analogous to NZXT USB 2.0 Hub
I got this to fix an issue w\ my X570 chipset and the Corsair commander pro. Purchased this since the NZXT hub recommended on the Corsair forums is in and out of availability. I was apprehensive at first to put this into my build considering my unfamiliarity with the manufacturer. However, upon receipt of the item the build quality far surpassed my expectations. The acrylic housing is really well made and the magnets are strong enough to hold the device to the bottom of a steel case and not be moved by the pressure of coiled cables etc connected to it. This hub uses SATA for power unlike NZXT which wants to use four-pin\molex, this is a win in my book as most people arent using molex is modern builds and should have a spare SATA head on their PSU cables. That being said, I am only running the Corsair Commander Pro off if it, and did not connect the SATA power, it is pulling sufficient power from the MB so this was not required for my install of just a single device. I'd imagine if attempting to run several devices off of it power would likely be required\recommended. Now, to the issue of why I needed this in the first place; apparently the Commander Pro doesnt play nice w\ the X570 chipset and many users have issues w\ the device disconnecting\resetting itself and even teh entire USB buses on their machines. Since installing the CoPro to this hub yesterday Ive had no events listed in the iCue logs of the CoPro resetting and no plug\unplug events using a USB device monitoring tool. (monitored overnight). I dont know WHY this works, it really befuddles my logic (career IT professional). But it does. ... show more
