I got this for my daughter who kept it squirreled away and I thought she was using it. Suddenly, I found it on my shelf with a comment that she really didn't like to take the time to use it. I was frustrated as I wanted to review it, but I am glad I had the new opportunity to try it for myself. HOW LONG TO CHARGE This takes a micro USB connector to charge and it comes with a short cord. I used a good quality longer cord with success. It took overnight to charge as it was pretty dead for me. WHAT I USE THIS FOR I like to do Gua Sha on my face. It is relaxing and it really does tighten the skin. I decided to try the lifting setting of this as a substuite to test it out. I also tried the ion for applying creams to the face RESULTS What I found was interesting. The ion setting did help the cream to go into the face nicely. I like how it performed. For the lifting part, well, I have to say that it did work in a similar way to the gua sha that I use. It does make a brighter and more lifted tone to my face which I like. THE BOTTOM LINE I LOVE Michael Todd Products and have used quite a few of them. This is an item I got for my daughter who didn't want to use it, so I got it back recently. It has performed well so far. MY RATING FIVE STARS. Michael Todd hit it out of the park again for me. I am glad I got this back from my daughter. I like it for the two applications I am using for it so far. It does leave me wanting to use the cleaning aspect although I would probably only do that once in a great while. I really wanted to be wowed by this tool but it just wasn't the case. :/ It's definitely a well made, nice looking product & is packaged well. It just doesn't seem to do any more for my skin than a cheap exfoliation scrub does... :/ It may work differently depending on skin age & type so I can't say it's useless. I guess I'd just caution you to be realistic about the potential results. The clear quality of manufacturing has me convinced the product was well thought out & may work for others so 3 stars seems fair. ... show more

I am honestly amazed at how effective this thing is at cleaning pores. You should be careful when using it because like most sonic skincare tools its very easy to get over-eager and end up irritating your skin but it really does push the junk out of your pores. Its crazy. If you use this in front of a magnifying mirror you can actually see it pushing stuff out of your pores as it moves along the skin. Its effective and kind of gross but also oddly satisfying. The scraper blade is easy to clean and comes with a cap to keep it clean when you aren’t using it. Its thin enough to easily fit in a small makeup or toiletry bag and it lasts a really long time on a single charge. Just be careful to press too hard. ... show more

Well I’m glad I revisited the ad, because I must of gotten the price mixed up and another Mike Todd item and was getting ready to grill this one ( thought this was $169lol.) So with that said- arrives with seals - hip hoop hooray 😃 It’s 30khz for ultrasonic pulses. I own another pretty known brand derma flash which is more powerful ultrasonic pulses at 33,000hz while this one is less and same price range. Between the two of them could I tell the difference? Not really both are really effective, I’ve tried ones that were lower pulses and barely made a dent in my oily combination skin. So personally for me I need 30khz+ to notice anything or even see it on the device to notice. In comparison both products feel liteweight and honestly cheaply feeling lol. Aside from that though my skin has been going through a bit of a cleansing routine so I don’t have that much gunk like before thankfully - devices like these really help! I also want to l note the end part of this is rather comfy even on nose region the way it arcs a bit compared to the other brand. By the way I really wanted the chrome one, but even thought I picked it it seems to have only given the pearl white version. ... show more

For decades, I've followed a regimen of cleaning and moisturizing daily. Applying serums occasionally became routine a few years back. I was sure that my cleaning routine was stellar. Therefore, my initial interest in the Sonic Skim ultrasonic skin spatula was its promise to increase serum infusion. If you purchase serums, you know they can be pricey, so it makes sense to maximize their application. When first received, the tool has to charge for a minimum of 12 hours, so I couldn't try it right away. When it was fully charged the next morning, I tried the deep cleaning function first. Because of my daily regime of cleaning, I didn't expect much, but the end of the little spatula got coated with debris in just one pass. Instantly, I understood that my old daily regime hadn't been enough. The combination of the little stainless steel shovel, its ultrasonic vibrations, and the ion technology proved to do a far better job than I'd ever done. For that, I was already thrilled with the Sonic Skim's performance when I first used it to infuse serum. Instead of using the tip, the shovel's opposite side couples with ionic technology to drive serum deeper. It's my understanding that the effectiveness of serums is dependent on how deeply they penetrate. I'm unable to objectively measure an increase in the depth of penetration. However, I feel a positive difference and believe using the tool will help me maximize the benefits of serum use. I'm very happy with its ease of use. My face looks and feels brighter and tighter.
