I am a big fan of the Merrell Moab Hiking shoes and this only the first pair that I have ever bought. In terms of the shoe itself I find the wide shoe option to be the perfect dimensions for my foot! It is great in terms of support and the colors are great. I recommend people go up a half size from the normal size they get for sneakers and that there be a fingers worth of space between their toes and the top of the shoes. My only complaints are minor, I think the lighter colors get dirty relatively quickly, the water proofing isnt perfect but I chose the shoe and not the boot option, and the manufacture provided soles arent the best quality. ... show more

    • Great Hiking Shoe

I wanted to replace my older hiking gym shoe with something good....I will be doing a lot of mountain trail hiking soon....I found these and got them. I wore them the day I got them and did a 5 mile walk to help break them in. Very comfortable! Fit perfect. I normally wear a size 12 and these fit perfectly. They are not tight at all so width and overall size is spot on. I had no issues with rubbing or foot fatigue. They have a nice strong fairly stiff sole which is what I really wanted so they will be perfect for trail hiking. They seam well made and appear to breathe nicely. They will get put to that test when I go back out to Arizona and use them for desert hikes. They are not too heavy at all and not light like a running shoe...they are perfectly weighted in my opinion for normal hikes. If you want light weights, you have to get running shoes. If you want strong sturdy soles that will absorb bumpy terrain and get good traction, these work very well! Very happy I got them and would highly recommend them. ... show more

    • Comfortable--Rugged--Anti-Slip Shoe!

These shoes, like my other Merrell Shoes, are great! I was originally worried that these might be some kind of "knock-off" brand but they are not. I found out that the new sole emblem is actually real and that that manufacturer is a new "partner" with Merrell. This color looks really nice. It is nicer than the picture shown in the ad. The grey and black contrast is quite pleasing to the eye. They fit like Merrells usually fit and they are very comfortable. As usual, the in-soles are removable so as to allow for insertion of your own custom orthotic. This shoe runs TRUE-TO-SIZE--don't play games with sizing, you will be sorry. I purchased a 1/2 sized larger than needed because I sometimes wear thick athletic socks when I do my walking. Additionally, the soles are very "grippy" and will serve you well on most all surfaces. However, remember NO sole will guarantee you will never slip it is just that these soles provide great traction. This particular model IS NOT WATERPROOF! If you want waterproof you will pay more and you must look for the special waterproof label on the side of the Merrell Shoe (all the waterproof models have this label). If you go for waterproof you will pay more and your feet will feel a little "warmer" inside when you have them on. Well that's my story. Good shoes! Good value! Not knock-offs!     • Great outdoor shoe for just about every use

I've always been a Keen fan but decided to give these a try mostly because of the price. Overall I'm happy with these shoes so here are the Pro's and Con's. PRO'S 1. The overall fit is perfect no need to size up or down. 2. They have a comfortable padded collar that wraps around your ankle and heal for support. 3. They are very easy to slip on and off with the loop pull on the back of the heal. The design is perfect. 4. The color is spot right on with the pictures and the shoes are nice to look at. 5. The quality is very good and the shoes are well put together. 6. The soles are grippy even in wet conditions. 7. I've worn them on a couple of warm sunny days without my feet getting hot. That's a big thing for me. They breath just fine. THE CON'S !. Not much insole padding on these. ( Keen's are much better ) The overall support is good but the shoe in general lacks that nice padded feel. It hits rather hard. 2. You can't add a thick padded insole because it will interfere with the fit of the shoe. I tried it didn't work. 3. I finally added a Dr Scholls foam insole, the thinnest one I could find. It seems to be working but time will tell. That was a $10 hit. So much for trying to save money. 4. This was the one star deduction. I hope the shoes get more comfortable as they brake in and the added insoles do not become a problem. Overall these are great shoes for the price. ... show more

So first off. I don't write reviews but I was telling my buddy about these shoes today and he said I should. Look, these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. Not just so comfortable you stand up and you're just mindless you even have shoes. No, as I walk. I think to myself "man, my feet feel good." Anyway I only had em two weeks so far but I love em. I believe they're quality built and probably will last but we'll see. Great shoes. And, I neglected the fact. I'm a big guy 6'6" 300lbs Alot of pressure on my feet. I've been wearing these shoes for many years. These are my favorite all around shoe. They have good support with a wide stable base that helps prevent twisting of ankles and have long lasting soles.

I have several Merrell MOAB shoes and boots. I initially went to the Merrell website only to find that the color selection for the Moab 3 (non-waterproof) was very limited. I came in to Amazon and they had a great price and the color that I wanted. The shoes were delivered in two days and I do not see any issues with the shoes. Per usual, they are comfortable and keep my feet from hurting. I highly recommend these shoes. ... show more

I've owned several pair. I wear same size as running shoes, which is a size up from my boots and dress shoes. These are sturdy and comfortable.
