I got a portable bathtub recently because I live in an RV. My hot water tank is only 6 gallons, so I bought this to see if it would heat up my bathtub. It really does--and pretty fast. It's 2000 watts. Submerge it and it will heat 20 gallons of water in less than an hour, and to hot tub temps. JUST A WARNING--MAKE SURE THERE'S WATER IN THE TUB AND DON'T WALK AWAY FROM IT FOR LONG. My husband put our first one in the tub and walked away as the water was filling up the tub. He forgot that the second small drain hadn't been properly closed, so all the water leaked out as quickly as it went in. I walked into the bathroom about an hour later just in time to see everything bursting into flames. This isn't a toy. ⚠️ WARNING!!! MINE CAUGHT FIRE WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY PLUGGED IT IN OUTSIDE OF THE WATER!!! ,however even the it still works. Lol that was my mistake and not an issue with the product, just writing this as a caution to others to be careful! This product works EXTREMELY well, and can heat up a small family inflatable pool into feeling like a jacuzzi tub within 45 minutes! We LOVE using it for that and it's genius at doing that!!! But don't touch the barrel unless you want burns so unplug ofcorse before you get in the water, and do NOT use in any ponds or aquariums unless you quickly want to make fish soup! ... show more

This device heats up water very quickly! Be careful and keep an eye on it, I like that it comes with a thermometer to tell you when it has hit the correct temp. I did however burn my arm on it after I took it out. Make sure you have a safe place for it too cool down. I bought this product as a complement of a foldable bathtub, does the job of warm the water but you must follow all the warnings of the product: 1. You should not place your hand into the water when the product is connected to the power supply. 2. If you need to use a power extension, you have to be sure to buy one that it's appropriate for this product, if you use a lower value the extension can take fire. 3. I bought this heater and was super excited to try it out because my hot water heater doesn’t quite fill my soaker tub. I got the product and the first problem I ran into was it required a 3 prong outlet within a couple feet of the tub. Welp, I certainly don’t have one as I’m guessing most people don’t. The only three pronged extension cord I had was on a power strip. I didn’t think of this for a couple months but when I did I thought, perfect this should do it. It did not. It tripped the surge protector after 5 minutes or less. Ok fine. Finally after I took down my Christmas lights I tried the heavy duty extension cord and had 1 absolutely perfect bath. Tonight with aching muscles, I climbed into my bath prepared for another relax soak. It didn’t turn on. At all. Nada. So I paid 30 bucks for 1 bath. Save your money. There has to be a better way! ... show more

Had to use this for a big bucket to shower when the hot water went out. It took a big but it was better than continuously using an electric teapot to heat up a huge bucket of cold water. It got delayed in the mail but the product itself was useful when we got it.

This worked so well in my rv bathtub saved time and was relatively fast. The thermostat works well and fast quick response time too. I use a silicone bath mat to lay it on since the tub is plastic I would recommend this and will buy again if needed.
