  • Very tough pole that works way better than I had hoped!
Awesome pole, and my wife loves it! I bought it for her because she wanted to start to use it to work out. The pole arrived very fast, and in good shape (thanks UPS) from Commercial Bargains (seller). I opened it up, and the pole came with a bag, and tool kit...plus all the hardware needed. It also comes with a disc that explains how to install, and an instruction sheet. Between the two, I figured it out just fine. So I used a level (magnetic) to hang on the pole to get it as level as I could. I used the level to check all 4 sides (north, south, east, west) while it was semi tight to the ceiling, yet I could still tap it left or right to get it lined up right, and tightened it up to the ceiling. I do recommend a friend, or someone to help you install it as 2 people really make it MUCH easier! Anyway, it was now straight, and lined up so I torqued it up to the ceiling nice and tight, and I mean fairly tight...don't be afraid. I did end up using some of my own tools such as a channel lock, or a smaller adjustable crescent wrench to tighten the torque rod. Then you spin down the locking nut till it is tight against the main shaft of the pole, and use the little bars (in tool kit) to cinch it down to the main pole. That will keep the torque rod from loosening while spinning, or using the pole. Then you simply use the 2 screws to put up the cover that hides the torque shaft, and install it....badda boom, badda bing...done! I am a "big boned" man, LOL and weigh nearly 300lbs. I put this pole up as mentioned with little effort, and gave it a spin...it held me just fine and dandy, and am sure it would even support a larger person than me if installed correctly! Just a quick mention though...after tightening it, I did give it a huge tug to make sure it would hold my weight, and also spun around it pulling all my weight while walking around it...then I gave it a spin! It spins great, and the ball bearings seem really nice! If you get any binding, it is probably because your shaft is not level. It also needs to be noted that it does lock down very easily to be a stationary pole...HOWEVER!!! I would HIGHLY recommend taking the 2 small "allen" screws that lock the pole down on the very bottom OUT, and going to your local hardware store, and getting some better ones! They are only .75 cents each for a MUCH stronger built bolt. I stripped out the ones that came with it and had a pain trying to remove one...I did get it, but immediately went to the hardware store and got a harder steel bolt to replace them. So overall, I give this a 5 star review, and REALLY recommend it! It is half the price of the X-Pole, and I am sure the X-Pole is a fantastic pole, and perhaps slightly easier to install (never used one)...but I do know that this one holds a "husky" 300lb man with ease, and was not hard to install. It is also nearly half the price as an X-Pole. As mentioned, though, I would buy your own screws to lock it down from spinning to stationary...Just take the original screws, and go to a hardware store...show them to an employee, and they will get you what you need. I bought mine from Commercial Bargains, and they shipped right away, and packaged it very well. The outer box had a few dings, abut the inner was perfect, and even if it wasn't...there really isn't much that can be hurt inside the box. Hope this review helped! ... show more

  • This is an excellent product when assembled correctly and the service and support ...
This is an excellent product when assembled correctly and the service and support provided by the seller was pleasant and exceptional! The product arrived 2 days after ordering in a brown cardboard box (with MegaBrand image on the box, nothing else), it was very well packed so all the parts were individually wrapped and nothing was damaged. I put together the pole in about 30 min following the instruction video on YouTube (the instruction came with the pole was not that great, highly recommend to watch the video on YouTube several times before trying to put the pole together). However, I've noticed that the flange sitting below the ceiling dome was rubbing against the dome, which makes it unable to spin 360 ( I later suspect that I might have raised the adjustment bar too much to cause the issue, you don't need to over-raise the adjustment bar as the ceiling dome is very big and provides a lot of grip on the ceiling). I struggled on for another 3 hours trying to fix it and eventually gave up. That's when I reached out to seller to request a replacement flange. To my surprise, the seller replied almost instantly, and helped me troubleshoot the issue (this was over a weekend). Once we've determined there's nothing we can do to fix it, the seller sent me a replacement pole base. I was convinced it was the flange so seller sent me another replacement flange as well (base arrived on the following Tuesday via UPS, flange arrived in 4 days in First-class). Unfortunately, when I tried to take the pole down to replace the parts, the adjustment bar locking flange got stuck (again, from me tightening it too much and stripping out the threads) and no matter what I tried (wrench, wd40, etc), it won't budge. So I reached out to the seller again and got a replacement Pole A (in the meantime, I was able to wiggle the pole sideways enough to take it down completely). After I received Pole A a couple days later, I was finally able to replace the parts and knowing the pole enough to assemble it correctly (no over-tighten of any part, the pole is very sturdy and won't shift around or come down like we've all imagined. In fact, it took me so long to finally shift it sideways to be able to take it down. I throw my whole body (135 lbs) on it and yanked very hard to move it ever so slightly. I felt like the ceiling was more likely to come down before the pole give in...). Enough said, now the pole spins perfectly and the stationary mode is very sturdy (no wriggle room as some of other feedback indicated, I found that you need to twist the pole a bit while putting in the setscrews to make them go in all the way and locking the pole tight). I'm extremely happy with the pole, it is smooth and well coated. Of course I'm just a very beginner in pole tricks so I can't say how well it is for different poses. But I feel safe on the pole and beginner climbing, clasping, spinning all work very well. What's more impressive is the communication with the seller, we've been emailing back and forth daily over a two weeks period and their willingness to help is very comforting. They are willing to send me parts without haggling and at no cost to me, which is heavenly when I'm struggling and in doubt with the product. I would highly recommend this pole and seller to anyone. The cost/performance of the pole is excellent and the seller is just the cherry on top. This is a true purchase review from my heart and I'm planning on up my pole skill using this one for the years to come! Thank you MegaBrand! ... show more

  • Good Buy
My husband did not want to spend $3oo on an Xpole so I did research on good spinning/static poles that cost less than $200 and came across this pole. It has the most reviews and majority of the reviews are somewhat positive. I ordered the pole Dec. 20, 2012 which was a Thursday. It arrived Dec. 26, 2012. It is a CHROME pole. I think the setup was more confusing for my husband than for me. We watched the instructional video on youtube recommended by other customers (pole install 1-2) which helped alot. The written directions are somewhat understandable but still crap. The included instructional dvd was an actual blank dvd like we buy in the stores and did not play in my xbox. There was a round silver ring piece that the dvd did not show us what to do with it but we figured out that it goes at the top before you attach the upper dome. The upper and lower domes are big around and has rubber on them for grip. The pole works well with carpet. I don't like the lower dome, I scraped & hurt the bottom of my big toe on it. I also don't like the collar which covers the adjusting part of the pole. Once the collar is lifted and screwed into place, it covers the pole instead of blending in with it. So you hve a collar at the top of the pole that is slightly bigger than the pole. Also, the collar on my pole scraped a certain spot on the upper dome while on spinning but the scraping sound went away once we removed 1 of 2 screws. Besides those minor quirks its a good sturdy pole. I'm 5'7", 200lbs. I've done spins, inverts, & have been very rough on it to see if it withstands it and it does. My husband has spun around it several times with no problems( he's 5'8" 200lbs)lol. ... show more
