Great value for the price. Easy to assemble but use your own wrenches. Most of the accessories are quality - bag is thick and waterproof with a good zipper, straps are sturdy, net is well assembled. The lock included is the only eh thing but it still works just seems flimsy. Only criticism would be it did rain the entire 12+ hour drive it was first used and there are some rusty drips and water marks on the product. No visible rust but it makes me unsure how long and how many trips it will actually last. ... show more

We bought this for our Christmas trip and drive 650 miles with awesome results. The bag fits 4 larger suitcases and had plenty of space for miscellaneous smaller bags. I needed some extra space for a long trip and after doing some research of the products available on Amazon, this seemed to be the best fit. It arrived as promised and everything was as expected and described. It took me 30-45 minutes to assemble. Everything seems to be good quality but I did use some better lock washers as one reviewer had suggested. The bag was great for packing things and fit even larger items without a problem. Once strapped down I had confidence that it wasn't going anywhere. I ordered a hitch extension so that I wouldn't have to remove the platform in order to open my rear hatch. It was a pleasant surprise that the door cleared the platform and bag without the added extension. And being able to flip it up once unloaded was great for parking and city travel and meant I never had to take it off during the trip. We traveled over 2000 miles with the bag loaded on the carrier and didn't have any issues. I am definitely pleased with this purchase. ... show more

I wanted a low cost and decent quality roof top carrier for our 2023 Subaru Outback for a long road trip because our large dog needs a lot of space in the rear of the car. I am very impressed with the quality of the bag. I was concerned that this would be the weak link, but it is extremely well made. The zipper is heavy duty and works very well. The seaming of the bag is impressive, it is airtight when fully zipped. To back that up, our trip was 3,000 miles and the last 10 hours of the drive was in the proverbial torrential downpour nonstop. Zero water intrusion, we had 3 large duffel bags inside and not even dampness on the outside of the luggage. The rack is fine, I will only mount the rack for trips, otherwise it would eventually rust being that we are in the Midwest. The bag has 2 tie down straps on each corner and secured the bag to the rack very well - they only need to be snugged to minimal tension and will be fine. I spent 30 to 40 minutes adjusting the straps initially. I think it was time well spent because after that all you need to do is unbuckle them when you want to take your bag off. The mounting hardware is good quality. A tip in addition to the strap tension - when assembling the rack, I used Fluid Film and sprayed inside the joining tubes of the rack to protect the tube insides from water and rust. I also coated the rubber sleeves with Fluid Film to make it easier to move them around during assembly because they fit tight. Also, when we got home, I removed the rack and wiped it down with Fluid Film for corrosion protection during storage. For $200 you can't go wrong with this rack and bag. ... show more

Purchased this to use on the roof of my SUV. The roof basket never came loose and the cargo bag protected the contents from the elements. I averaged about 70mph and never had issues with the car drifting. There was some noise from the basket and cargo bag but it wasn't very loud. Nothing the radio at normal sound level couldn't drown out. The only negative comment I can make is that the screws are too long. Other reviewers have mentioned this and I can confirm that the screws are definitely too long. They could easily cut a half inch off the screws and it still would have worked without issues. As it is, the length does not cause any problems being that long. I put the rubber caps on them and they did not come off as the cargo bag held them in place. The straps on the cargo bag also worked great. I checked the straps every 100 miles during our trip and the straps did not loosen at all. They held the cargo bag in place and we had zero issues with the contents inside the bag. I had both clothes and electronic equipment in the bag and the bag protected them from the elements. When I arrived at my destination (both ways), the contents were kept dry and were protected the whole trip. Assembly and disassembly was not too bad either. So much so that when we got to our destination, we disassembled the cargo basket for the week we were at our destination. We then put the basket back on a couple of hours prior to us returning from the trip. Once we got home, we disassembled the cargo basket and have it hanging on our garage wall waiting for the next trip. ... show more
