This metal hoe is lightweight, sturdy and has decent blade width. This is a good rake tool to clear the weeds off the top layer. It is not sharp but decent sharpness for clearing weeds. It can be used as it is or with a handle. Because it is lightweight, this tool will feel even lighter if attached it to a handle. You can not use it to dig or loose soil as it will be time consuming and not comfortable to use. ... show more

    • Very happy, two for the price of one in my eyes but you will need to install a handle
Exactly as pictured and it is a set of two. Some people may be upset that these don't come with handles but I appreciate the fact that I can make it to my size wants/needs and I can do one with a short handle for on my knees digging as well as a full handle for standing up to clear bigger areas. Definitely has a handmade look as the welds do not appear to be machine made. For now I am using them without a handle as I was clearing through a flower bed so I need to be a bit more careful of the plants. I do see that I will have to use a file (I can probably get a rotary tool head on it) on one socket as there is a piece of metal peeled back from when they punched the screw hole in the socket which may inhibit a proper mounting of a handle but that isn't a big deal and should be a 5-10 minute fix by hand. Sharp but not razor sharp so you need to be careful but this sharpness helps get in and chop up roots on weeds and such. Quite happy. ... show more

    • Great weeding tool
These weeders are sharp and easy to use. They slice through weeds easily. I lightly rake the weeder over shallow-rooted weeds and it removes the layer of weeds with roots like you'd peel an carrot. For weeds with slightly deeper roots it takes a bit more work but they the weeder will dig them out. However, they won't work on deep rooted weeds like dandelions. Highly recommended. ... show more

    • An unusual hoe especially good for clean grass
8-inch garden hoe with sharp blade. Looks solid and well made. Requires installation of 1.5" diameter wooden handle (sold separately). The angle between the blade and handle is different from most hoes we see at Home Depot, with the blade nearly parallel to the ground when in use. This is great for cleaning grass on flat surfaces. You can easily cut grass on an 8-inch wide path by simply pulling the hoe back. Comes in a set of two, I wish the set could be a combination of an 8" and a smaller (say 4") hoe so I could use the smaller hoe to clean up unwanted grass between the plants in the vegetable garden. ... show more

These are not the regular 90 degrees angle garden hoe like my old ones but more like 30-40 degrees angle between the handle and the blade with a slight curve neck. Sharper blades than my previous one for sure, well made, with reinforced welding at the bottom of the blade connecting the handle. Strong metal and easy to clear with. No wooden sticks are included but can still be used for light clearing with while sitting or kneeling down. I am fixing to get a couple of wooden sticks to use with these though, the inner diameter is just a little less than 1.25" by the way. The media could not be loaded. Wow! These tools are impressive and have made weeding so much easier and somewhat enjoyable. Every year we get these trailing weeds that spread all over our property and when they dry up it's like walking on Velcro. If you're wearing sandals they get stuck and you end up barefoot full of stickers. This year we decided to stay on to of them but they're not the easiest to pull out because they have stickers. I'm so happy I ordered these hoes and although I haven't mounted them onto a handle, they're proving to be quite effective. In fact, I might keep one to use as is and put a handle on the other The head is solid steel and quite sharp. It blew me away when it whacked up the desert broom, nothing has been able to do that in the past. We have an acre and I'm going on the hunt for more weeds, this is so much fun! ... show more
