I got my order today and assembled the chair. It came with instructions and I did it by myself but I suggest you get someone to help you to make it easier. All the parts came with the 2 boxes and I got to see just how well made this chair is. For the money it’s worth it…this is my 5th chair over the last 23 year period and I can say it’s a nice chair. The padding is not as full/thick as more expensive chairs but it is adequate. I am 6’3” and 193 lbs and it holds my frame and body well. The lumbar pillow that comes with it gives my back good support. I may decide to get a pillow to pad the seating a little better since I spend hours upon hours sometimes watching sport and shows on TV and a softer seat would be better. All in all for less than 500 bucks in todays market I got a good deal and I think the chair is built well enough to last for 4-5 years like the other Choate I’ve had. I can recommend this chair to all !!!! ... show more

    • Updated - Massager function did not work but is now fixed.

The chair is very comfortable and looks great, but if you are buying this for the massager it worked for a couple of minutes and then died. After working with the seller they were able to figure out the bad part and send a replacement that fixed the problem.

    • I Like This Chair - Very Comfortable

This is one slick good looking comfortable chair that ships in two boxes. You might think one box holds the chair and the other holds the ottoman; not so. The parts for each, chair and ottoman are distributed between both boxes. One note worth mentioning which others have talked about -- no assembly instructions are included. I went to the Mcombo website and while they have instructions for everything from chicken coops to tents they didn't have instructions for this particular recliner model (as of 12/2020 anyway). They had something kinda sorta close, and between that, pictures on the shipping box and my "vast mechanical experience", I had the entire thing unboxed (two boxes) and assembled in a little under an hour. The hardware includes two hex wrenches and a flat steel 13mm wrench along with bolts and nuts. If you have a 13mm socket, I suggest breaking it out and using that instead of the little flat 13mm wrench. There are only two places you need that 13mm and that is for the two nuts and bolts that secure the back cushion to the base. Those nuts and bolts are an integral part of the preassembled reclining mech. I also put a small dab of lubriplate on those two bolts. Those two bolts are the only items I lubed. I would not suggest putting any lube on the rotating base or in the roller housings. If you do, that base and integral rollers are apt to gather dust and grit (especially if the chair is on a carpet which mine is) over time and muck up the works; clean and dry should work the best for that swivel assembly. Also, make sure all the screws on the roller housing for the swivel base are nice and tight The chair swivel base, seat cushion and recliner mech lever assembly are preassembled. One tip; as you begin to assemble the chair tighten all existing screws. By that, I mean the screws that are already in place such as frame screws, swivel base screws, and any that you come across that you didn't install yourself; most of them needed to be tighter and it's a lot easier doing this as you assemble the chair as you will have it in different positions which makes for easy access. As far as comfort goes, WOW! ... very nice. The vibrating feature is great with many choices, five intensity levels, and nine vibration patterns that pulse in various sequences and durations, to select from. Three separate sections vibrate. You can also overide the pattern selections and have one, two or all three vibrators be continuous. The picture does not do the Brown color justice. It is a rich chocolate color. ... show more

    • Problem with chair…

Received the chair and assembled as instructed… One box received significant damage in shipping but chair appeared to be fine… Assembled and the chair looked and felt great… But when I connected the massage functions, none of the electrical features worked at all… Having paid a premium for the massage feature, I decided to request a refund… I disassembled the chair, packed it in the original boxes and returned to the seller… They supplied the return shipping label… So far, I have not received any more communications from the selller… I’m an old guy and the asssembly and disassembly was quite a chore… [edited] Mcombo has been easy to work with and my refund was posted a few days later… I don’t fault Mcombo since it was more than likely an error made at manufacture … As stated I loved the fit and finish and comfort of the chair and I will consider ordering another chair from Mcombo… The warranty on any product is no better than the company you buy from, and Mcombo stepped up to the plate and stood behind the chair… ... show more

We purchased this chair for an elderly relative who was coming to stay with us for an extended period of time. Assembly was easy and it is a nice-looking chair. Unfortunately, the seat was too low for our relative to easily get into and out-of so we requested to return the item. We were also unable to get the vibrating mechanism to work. The company was kind enough to accept the return, so I give them a LOT of credit for being a very respectable organization. I would definitely do business with them again. ... show more

    • Didn't last. Vinyl peeling away from backing.

First the good news. Bought two years ago. Relatively easy to assemble. Looked good. Sits well. Now the bad news. Large areas of "Leather-like vinyl" began to peel away from backing in area of headrest. After some negotiation and admittedly well outside warranty window, Seller agreed to replace back of chair. That said, vinyl is now peeling in area of left armrest. Too much money spent for only 2 years of service. Would not buy again. ... show more
