After buying a can crusher, I quickly discovered that many are too small to handle a 16 oz can. I went back to looking for one that would work on larger cans and found them to be almost twice as expensive. After quite a bit of searching I finally found this one. It works great with very little effort on standard cans and larger 16 oz cans. Every once in a while if I pull all the way down, the can will crush in just the right way to get stuck requiring a screwdriver or small pry bar to get it out. To prevent this I put a small dowel rod in each corner to create a stop about a quarter inch higher than where it stops normally which has prevented me from getting stuck.. ... show more

This product has an acceptable real estate occupancy on the wall. Very secure on my commercial shelf grooved slated walls in my garage. The mechanics are great and very easy for most able bodied people. Leverage is there without much effort for a can crusher. The arms seem flimsy though as they are thin metal. Based on my bodies movements, there was immediate slight warping of the arms leaning to the left. I also expected more of a compaction. But after I already saw how the arms had slighted towards one side I decided to push the units limits slightly. I figured out that the compacted cans size I expected was achieved by placing multiple cans on top of each other and slowly pulling down to use the space still left in the cans. It’s great for small cans, tall boys, and water bottles with the provided cut outs, machined indentations, and rubber non slip pad on unit. I drink carbonated water like I breathe air. I drink canned water a lot and I have so many cans at the end of the day. I have put over 50 cans through this thing and it's only lost the rubber pad at the bottom. But it's not bent and it's functioning like new. By far the best hassle-free can crusher you can buy! I suggest mounting to a piece of plywood that is covering a sheetrock wall, as the pressure will make a hole in the wall. I learned this with my last can crusher. Update: After I posted the original 1 star review the company contacted me right away and offered to replace it or refund my money to keep a satisfied customer. Very good company to deal with! Within a few days the non-slip pad on the bottom began to break apart, then yellow paint began flaking off, now you can see the top part that crushes the cans is beginning to deform. Now the handle will not stay up and like so many others this is now a two hand operation. I have only been using this crusher for less than 2 months and I have always poked a crimp in every can to make it easier on the crusher. This unit will be replaced by another brands before it falls apart like it has for others. ... show more

I bought my first one over a year ago. I'm a hardcore Redbull addict (zero shame) and go through a ton of the standard sized slim cans. Before I stumbled upon this can crusher I had been doing the overwhelmingly ineffective one handed can squish to "save space" in my recycle bin. Yep... I really "saved some space" doing it that way. Instead of fitting only 17 cans in the bin, I could fit 20 (sarcasm doesn't get much thicker than that). When I found this can crusher, I was actually looking for one, and like most people, I bought it based on the rating and number of reviews. And I was elated to find that it absolutely lived up to the hype! I have rather weak arms due to a chronic health condition (which makes me a very odd duck as I'm a maintenance tech, driveway auto mechanic of 20 years, and a furniture builder... I'm also a 5ft 100lb F), and even on my bad days when it's too painful to even lift my arms, I can still slam a can perfectly flat in this thing. My friend's 2 yr old wanted to try it out, so I totally let her take the handle.. fully supervised of course (I'm not one to deny a little girl who shows interest in how mechanical stuff works). That kid executed a single one handed downswing, and flattened a can on the first try! What I like most about this crusher, and what you'll see in almost anything made to top quality standards, is that the performance has remained consistent for over a year. While the one I bought originally has been beaten all to hell, and looks like it got run over by industrial farming equipment, it still works just as perfectly as it did when I first unboxed it. So, if it's that great, why did I need to get another one? As sturdy and well made as it is... it's not idiot proof. Nothing really is though. One of my friends (the type who thinks he's a pro .. but isn't.. at all) decided he was smarter than me ..and the manufacturers of the can crusher.. and proclaimed that he was going to "fix it" (apparently he thought the handle arm was too stiff) with a quick spritz of WD40. He'd done it before I could stop him. DO NOT make that mistake!!! The arm will not stay up anymore, and instead, flops out and down. I have had to secure it with a clothes pin ever since.. and I still yell at the idiot who messed it up whenever I see him. So.. the new one I just ordered is 100% because of how beaten up the old one looks, and it's an eyesore in my kitchen. But because it still works perfectly, I'll move the old one into my workshop where looking beaten up blends in. ... show more

This has been great but we mounted it in the garage over the recycle can and, like an idiot, I didnt think about the forces going through it. It NEEDS to be anchored into a stud. I also would recommend using more aggressive screws than those included.

This is a very sturdy, excellent quality can crusher. Very small amount of rubber on handle and on the bottom where the can sits, otherwise all metal. I would expect this crusher to last for several years

Didn’t work really well initially, but after applying WD40, it works like a charm. Just grease it up and it’ll run smoothly!
