I have tried about 5 different brushes for my dog and this one is by far the best I have used. I have an Australian cattle/ Labrador mix. She isn’t a super shredder but does have quite a bit come off as it gets hot outside. This brush seems to be the most comfortable for her and gets the most amount of hair off. Although this looks like some kind of gardening tool to me, the teeth are rounded and release the hair easily. Of course, it's steel so use it with a very gentle touch. I just lightly and slowly brush my lab's fur with it, in the direction her hair grows, and it removes the shed undercoat even using only the wider detangling side. She's still a little leery of it but it doesn't seem to pull her hair or hurt her (I wouldn't use it if it did), and I'm sure it helps her stay a little cooler in the summer with the undercoat she's shedding out of the way. One of my Ragdolls was getting knots in her armpits and she didn't like being combed. I decided to try this instead. The amount of fur that comes off these girls is astounging and my reluctant kitty actually seems to enjoy it. (fingers crossed) So far no more knots and less fur flying around my house. They feel so soft after being groomed with this tool. I am using it about twice a week. I let a friend try it on her Maine Coon and she loved it and bought one too! I have a Border Collie. I got this because it was cheap! But for $12, you get what you pay for. I did have the FURMURATOR that lasted 5-6 years and was MUCH better though 4 times the price. My dog HATES this thing. When brushing do this SLOWLY and you really must be "SUPER" gentle with the animal but he still hates it. The videos show folks brushing fast etc., they are not being forthright. By the way, leave your house, go to an open field and brush. It is a complete mess with hair everywhere including on yourself. ... show more

This brush removes way more hair than I thought possible and my crazy white lab loves it when I’m brushing her. Summer is here and hair is getting everywhere! Decided that enough is enough and got this brush and am blown away by how much hair gets easily removed. So much in fact that I’m surprised that she has any hair left! My dog has a very thick coat of fur and sheds horribly. I have tried just about every style/type of brush out there and they didn't get the undercoat very well. This one gets right in there and lifts the undercoat out. It's still not a fast process, but faster and easier than the others.

The amount of hair that this thing removed from my dog was astounding. He is apparently double coated (was a mixed breed rescue), and with summer coming, we wanted to remove it. He did not act like it bothered him, but is now much more sleek and shiny…. And probably less hot. Wear old clothes bc they’ll be COVERED in hair, and do it outdoors.
