  • High quality. Unfortunately, our problems are too big for a single well made tool to solve.
I am not getting great results with the DOGGIEZ PET SUPPLIES DOG AND CAT DEMATTING AND DESHEDDING TOOL. I am going to have to take the blame, because I am sure there is nothing wrong with the Dematting Tool itself. In fact it appears to be extremely well made , and in the right hands ,I can almost guarantee it is a quality product that kicks some doggie matts. I think it can be counted on to continue to do so for many years. It is a quality product, and the selling price is more than reasonable. So why isn’t it working for me? My dog is in charge, and he does not like it. This is not unexpected, he doesn’t like a lot of things. He is kind of a jerk. We are his third owners. Nobody knows how he spent the first 8 months of his life. He was picked up, wandering the streets of Kern County and ended up at the Humane Society where he was immediately adopted because he is “to die for” cute. He was a jerk to those people too. After a year they had had enough of him. The final straw came when he bit a kid. They sent all 12 pounds of his cuteness packing, right back to the Humane Society. He got his picture featured in the paper, probably because he wasn’t allowed to go to the mall on Saturdays, with the rest of the dogs, to search for a new owner. He is very photogenic, and we are the suckers that ended up with him, 5 years ago. For the first few weeks, every time I Iooked at him I was gushing “OMG He is sooooooo cute, he is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen” Then I got to know him. I no longer think he’s adorable, mostly due to his moody, disagreeable personality. Having matted hair doesn’t help either. He does not like to be picked up, or touched very much. He hates being groomed. The first groomer I took him to , gave me a bag of grooming tools when I came to pick him up, as scheduled, 2 hours after dropping him off. She apologized for not finishing with him, saying: “He was good for the first 40 minutes, and then… HE WAS DONE!!!” She never elaborated, but because she gave me all her tools, I always wondered if she was leaving her job at that grooming salon , and giving on up being a groomer for good, all because of Stanley. Why else would she give up her tools? Stanley has hair, not fur and he weighs less than 15 pounds. He will tolerate a soft brush only. I usually cut the mattes out of him with scissors, a few a day . He growls viscously, and snaps often. The vet has to cut his toenails . To cut mattes out of his feet takes two of us : my husband has to hold him down while I cut. Its unpleasant for all of us. I’ve never been anything but kind to that dog. I’ve never even accidentally nicked him with the scissors or even caused him any pain while taking out his mattes. I am so gentle with him. I am a complete pushover. We love our dog and we just want him to be healthy and happy. It is obvious ,that despite this tool being high quality , and more than and capable of dematting our dog , we have bigger problems than this tool was ever going to be able to solve. SIGH . . . Now I am going to bed, where my dog will lunge at me when I pull back the covers to climb in bed. After letting me know I’m not welcome, he will sigh loudly, making it clear he is unhappy about being inconvenienced . Then he will begrudgingly move his grouchy A$$ to the foot of the bed. And that’s the best case scenario. ... show more

  • Works okay
This product did get some loose fur off my malamute mix, but not much. He is mixed with lab so his fur is not as fluffy as a full blooded malamute. I believe this would work better for longer hair or fluffy dogs.

  • A need for multiple pet homes
I have three cats and 1 year old dog. She sheds a ton, so I always have to brush her constantly. This is a great addition to the tool kit for her. I brush her once every week or two, and she seems to prefer this one to the other two I have. The price is great for this too.

  • Effective matting tool
I chose this matting comb to use on my small 5lb heavily-matted cat. She is over 18yrs old and sensitive to brushing. Her fur is so prone to tangling, she should be brushed everyday, but when this doesn't happen, tangles turn to mats. The mats pull her skin INTO the mat, so scissors are not safe to use. I tried this comb because it has curved blades that separate the fur from the sensitive skin. Because my cat is so sensitive, she would not tolerate much combing with this tool. However, the mats I could get to more easily (on her back, tail and neck areas) responded well to being cut by these blades. I think if you have a pet that is prone to matting, this tool is an excellent product to use, especially as a preventive approach to mats. There are many manufacturers of matting combs. It's important to find one that is made well, sturdy and fits in your hand (right or left). This met all my needs and I like the colors! Best of all, it is safe for my pet. ... show more

  • Exactly as described.
I've had a dog rake before and loved it. Then I got a puppy and she ate the handle off. I ordered this rake to replace that one. It's as nice as I hoped and worth more than the $9 when I ordered mine. I've also soaked it in water and it didn't rust. The listing photos are correct and what I received looks exactly the same. ... show more

  • Works great
I am using this for my goldendoodle's hair. It is comfortable to use (very ergonomic) and works really well at getting matts out. The blades are sharp and the two sizes is very useful. Best of all, my doodle actually enjoys when I use it on him!

  • Works really well for clearing loose fur.
This brush works really nicely. It has a two-sided design for pulling off loose fur, and alternatively for clearing matted fur. Our dog doesn’t have any matting problems, but most certainly has LOTS of fur to clear out on a regular basis. The brush effortlessly removes that fur – using either side – and it proved to be less aggravating to the dog than our other shedding brushes/tools. And then once you’ve gathered a nice wad of fur on the brush, a quick swipe of the hand and it comes right off. I like the handle is a good size for gripping, and has a comfortable rubber surface. ... show more
