  • Don't think; Just buy!
Size: 1000W Color: Red
I recently bought the Inverter 1000W Car Power Inverter for a camping trip in my 2003 Subaru Outback, and it was perfect for my needs! Coupled with a 4 AWG Battery Cable kit, it worked GREAT! This inverter powered three devices simultaneously, including an 800W espresso machine (gotta have my coffee in the morning). The dual AC outlets and 3.0A USB and Type-C ports provided plenty of options for charging and powering all my essential devices. The installation was straightforward, and the inverter fit neatly on the passenger floorboard. It delivered reliable and consistent power throughout my trip, making it an essential part of my off-grid setup. Although I plan to upgrade to a 3000W inverter eventually, this 1000W inverter offers unbeatable value for its price and performance. I highly recommend it to anyone starting to build an off-grid vehicle or needing a dependable power source for camping and other adventures. Great product. Thank you! ... show more

  • Best purchase ever!
Size: 1000W Color: Red
My husband and I have been in the RV for four months now traveling all the way through the United States, Canada, Alaska and back. More than 18,000 miles we put on the RV and many locations we were Boondocking. This 1000 amp inverter has been terrific. It allows us to run a two fans off of it, which helps with the circulation when we’re not connected we can watch tv with our sound bar using our fire stick. I can work on my computer and the fan is very low. You barely hear it. It usually goes off not so much if you’re using it but if the temperature exceeds 9095 here in the RV will come in and hear the fan on, but it is terrific so if any of you people Looking for an inverter that will take on a lot. This one by far has been the best one we’ve ever had. ... show more

  • Works well, but bad packaging
Size: 1000W Color: Blue
The unit works as expected: I haven’t tried it at full load yet but both the 120VAC and usb outputs work well, and the cables are long enough (although just barely). I only gave it 4 stars because the packaging is bad and I can’t help but think I got lucky that the mailman was gentle with it. The main unit was marginally well supported in the box, and was probably protected from rough handling from 4 of the sides, but the cables and fuses were just rattling around in there loose and could have been easily been damaged by getting smashed by the main unit. It was shipped in its original packaging, not in a secondary box, which is fine and logical. Shipping it in a bigger box wouldn’t have done much to reduce the risk of shipping damage. The better solution is for the original packaging to be improved. ... show more

  • your auto's alternator must supply enough power
Size: 1000W Color: Red
I live in a state where half the residents lost power. So, for the future, I am trying to choose between a car power inverter and an inverter generator. A car power inverter is basically a piece of electronics that is powered by the car, so it seems more convenient than a self contained generator. I have a small Honda Fit, and apparently the alternator is so efficient that it puts out enough electricity to power the car, but is not enough to power a 1,000 watt inverter. So, I was not able to use this inverter. I have looked at a lot of inverter product descriptions, and none of them mention the importance of checking the capacity of the car's alternator. This inverter is well designed regarding set up. Alligator clips are easy to connect with the battery, while the cord connects with the inverter using two screws, very convenient and hard to mess up. The problem is when I try to run a space heater using the wall outlet, the wattage reads about 450. When I run it off this inverter, the wattage drops to 330. Similar drop in wattage using a blender. I hooked up a wattage monitor to the inverter itself. And, it shows 89 volts when the car is on, and curiously, the voltage increases to 94 when the car is turned off. My household voltage is normally 110. So, I have concluded my Honda Fit is incapable of powering a 1,000 watt inverter, and will be buying a generator. ... show more

  • Advertisement is a lie!
Size: 500W Color: Red
Oh where do I being... first of all, this thing works, just not up to specs, and the specs are not what is advertised here either. It's ADVERTISED as 500W with 1kW surge. Right off the bat, the manual says 450W continuous and 500W peak power output. So keep this in mind, the Amazon page is 100% definitely lying. Additionally, the device claims to have a safety cutoff at 550W which will shut off the AC and produce a repeating 4 beep alarm. This feature "works", many times has it cut off my power and beeped at me, and the inverter is safe from harm. So what's the problem, besides this being a lower rating than advertised? Well, I never put a load on this inverter >500W, and yet the safety switch cut me off. Indeed, my watt meter rarely reaches 250W before the inverter shuts off. So it seems to me that this inverter not only has specs in the manual that are well below the advertisement, but its actual performance is once again well below the spec! But maybe it's my load that is somehow the problem? My load is a refrigerator that has a running amperage <1A, and startup rating of 4A. 4A * 110V ~440W. Plugged into a wall with my watt meter I see 420W maximum draw so it seems to be running up to spec. Already I trust this fridge a lot more than the inverter! But further investigation... Fridges are basically just compressors, which produce an inductive load. This can cause a low power factor (PF) which basically means the net wattage is unaffected but it causes a lot of push-and-pull and strains the power system, in this case the the inverter. I measured the PF to be around .85, peaking at 500VA, still within the inverter's specs. Long story short, this thing is DEFINITELY INCAPABLE OF DOING 500W! By the way, the provided cables are 12 AWG. 12 AWG is rated for a maximum sustained current of 20A, otherwise they get too hot. 20A * 12V = 240W. That's the maximum safe continuous power draw that the provided cables can do without overheating. Coincidence that the power off feature seems to cut power at about exactly that power draw? I don't think so. At least it's not a fire hazard... probably. I made my own wires for this after seeing the provided ones, hopefully I can use them on whatever replacement inverter I buy. ... show more
