  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great looking Figure but has flaws
Huge fan of Berserk and I was excited when I found out this figma was getting a rerelease and repaint. Great looking figure! Tons of accessories! I think the figure is poseable. The cape hinders some types of poses but not a huge issue. I think I prefer this version’s darker black armor color vs the previous version’s lighter black/gray. Now to the cons. There are defects. My copy can’t switch chest plates. I’ve tried as much as I could. Before I gave up worrying that I might break the piece if I continued. So I have to keep the skull knight helmet on and can’t switch the manga/anime accurate helmet unfortunately. The paint job does look a little sloppy in some areas. Good Smile might have been going with the idea of making the armor look like it was battle damaged but the result makes the paint job not look great. Despite the flaws I am happy with my purchase. Guts and Schierke looks great on my shelf! Too bad I can’t take advantage of all the accessories. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing figure!
Incredible level of detail, high quality material and a bunch of accessories. If youre a big berserk fan like myself and you have the money, this figure is a must own. The only problem i encountered and its why i cant give it a full 5 star review is that the stand doesnt fit in the little hole at the back of figure because the tip is too thick, although i dont think the stand is necessary at all because the cape is stiff enough to maintain the figure in a stable position. Other than that, it was well worth the money ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Quality, detail, options - impressive product
So first off, most of this guy is gun metal, it's a great display of his berserker armor - I am impressed. His armor moves around a bit which gives him a slight feel of being fragile, almost like a loose rubix cube, but I'm really not too worried about him. I think this is the cost of the mobility they gave him. He comes with 3 helmet options with 3 different "collars" that go with them. His face is only partially visible with two options, no face for the full helmet. I'm displaying mine with the included ethereal schierke. She only attaches at 1 point and I wish this was a little better. His cape is hard plastic, but the paint and detail on it is magnificent. It's heavy, hard and doubles as a stand with the way I display him. My biggest complaint is the sword, the blood stain pattern is sooo weak.. To the point that "goodsmiles" seems to offer a replacement sword for two years from release. I think there's about a year left in that. Toe pivots are a nice add from other figmas I've had. This figure is definitely growing on me the more I talk about it. I think he's a tad bigger than the movie figmas, proportion-wise. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but not very pose-able.
The figma itself looks and feels amazing. It’s sturdy and doesn’t feel at all flimsy. The sculpt of Guts’s armor look spectacular and has subtle paint chipping along its various ridges. That said it’s flawed in terms of articulation and acessories. The figma’s range of motion is rather limited in the hips preventing Guts from moving the forward and outward due to the thick armor. The arms also can’t lift outward all that far either but do have the ability to fully rotate unimpeded. The articulation of the neck can be impeded depending on which head sculpt you use. There aren’t a whole lot of accessories to the figma. You get a bloodied Dragonslayer, Several alternate hands, a spectral projection of Shierke, and the 3 diffirent head armors for Guts. The Dragonslayer’s blood effects look great from a distance but a bit too glossy up close. Shierke’s only point of articulation is at her head but is otherwise static. A bit a problem with her is that the peg in her hand is kind of small which may result in her falling off of Guts’ hard plastic cape without too much effort. The hand assortment is typical of figma (holding, fist, gripping, etc)with no special variants. All said I do appreciate this figma’s looks but really wish that that it was more pose-able and had a few more accessories to it such as Gut’s cannon arm and a more neutral face piece. Side note: I had a lot of trouble removing the Chest piece for the default skull armor variant. If you do as well, I recommend soaking the figma in some warm water for a minute or so to loosen it up. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars It's a nice figure, but not perfect.
The quality of the figurine itself is fairly good, with most of it seeming sturdy enough and the overall paintjob on Guts is well made with the the wear and tear painted where it should be and the cape being nicely constructed. The front plate was a bit difficult to remove and I ended up having to pry it loose with a knife to not tear off the gorget (throat guard), and the lack of articulation in the groin protector making it more limited in terms of poses. The paint on the sword is also nowhere close to the quality you see on the official pictures. (Look at the customer pictures if you want to see what it actually looks like.) More unfortunate though and a much bigger flaw is that mine came with the left hand broken off at the wrist and the plastic peg stuck inside of the arm. While the more major flaws are not end of the world problems and something I might be able to fix on my own by drilling out the peg and repainting the sword, it is not something I should have to do. The sword painting needs improvements, and the wrist could be made significantly more durable by having a metal peg and joint, or at the very least arrive with none of the hands already attached to Guts. ... show more
