  • DOG RESCUES: Each month we donate to different rescues throughout the USA. At the end of every month, we tally up the number of leashes and collars sold. Based on the number, we determine how many rescues we can donate to for that month. We donate down our list of rescues until each one has received a donation and then we go back to the top of our list. In special cases, we will donate to rescues out of turn based on their immediate needs.
  • QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: Our dog collar is 1" wide (3/4" S, 5/8" XS) and made with a 2mm thick nylon layer (1.5mm for XS). We use a heavy duty nylon snap buckle that has a lockable tab (XS not lockable) to prevent accidental release. We use a thick D-ring which is anodized to a gunmetal finish. This collar has held up well through rain, mud, surf, and many doggy play dates. The lock feature is handy, although I never had a previous clip collar come off accidentally. The collar size is easy to adjust. To wash, I remove the dog tags, put the collar in a small net bag, and then wash with other dog linen (dog towels) in a front loading washing machine. My wife likes this for our Aussy/Doodle, it fits well, reflective stitching is bright and the collar clasp does have a locking feature. Like the idea behind Max and Neo, like the nylon construction, the separate metal tag loop and the strong lead attachment for the collar, although we use a harness when walking or training or riding in the SUV. The only reason we purchased this is I removed the previous collar for a short time and the pooch pulled it off the table and chewed the buckle to pieces before we could cross the room. I really wanted an all metal buckle and even tried one, but is was heavy and my wife couldn't unfasten it. So we decided to try again and be more careful if and when we remove it again. UPDATE 2/2020 After almost 2 years I had to replace the collar, it is still in great shape, no problem with stitching or reflective trim. The locking feature of the collar has just worn out. I take the collar off every night and every time we come out from inclement weather. The plastic buckle is still in one piece and much stronger than I anticipated, however, being plastic and not designed to be removed 700 times I'm sure, it was bound to wear, the buckle still works and is robust, but the locking tab hardly has any resistance to moving to and from the locked position, still I rate it 5 stars for how it has held up. My dog is very active and thinks he has to skid and roll to retrieve anything, which is his mission in life. He loves the snow as well. This is one tough collar and gladly will buy another in a couple of years. ... show more

I usually don't write reviews, but I have been saying to myself for 2 weeks that I really need to leave a review for the Max and Neo leash and collar because they are so fabulous and I am so happy with them. I bought the blue leash and matching collar. They have a little bit of a sheen which really looks sharp and my boy looks so handsome with them on. And I absolutely love the reflective stitching too. I like a simple, sturdy leash and this one fits the bill. There is just a little bit of padding on the neoprene handle which makes it comfortable, but not too bulky. The clasp is simple and seems heavy duty and I think it will last for a long time. The simple ring attachment near the handle works great for poop bags and/or a carabiner. I love the collar just as much. It has a durable plastic buckle, then a lock for another layer of security. There is a sturdy leash ring, and a separate loop for tags to cut down on noise. Plus I love the company's philanthropic mission to donate to shelters. All of this for a very reasonable price. I'm a girl that loves the look and quality of Ruffwear, but couldn't afford Ruffwear prices on these particular purchases. But Max and Neo did not disappoint! One thing to note - I really wanted a simple, affordable harness to match, which the same reflective stitching. I wasn't thrilled with Max and Neo's harness option so I went ahead with a step-in harness from Lupine Leash in a similar color, but unfortunately no reflective stitching. ... show more

FYI, size medium for th harness is for a smaller dog than a sz med for this particular collar. It’s very durable as all th Max & Neo products. It’s just th sizes do not necessarily match so measure your dog & follow th charts. I had a hard time getting my dog to allow me to check his girth so I guessed, but I guessed wrong! I like the locking feature a lot. We have tried to hold our dog by the collar when she gets too excited in the car barking at any and all dogs we pass. But her old collar came open several times, and that was not helpful. The lock on this collar seems to be strong and has a good grip. It takes a little pressure to slide it open. I think more than just a pull. The color is beautiful teal. I like that it is a little bit wider also than her old collar. I would recommend this collar and leash to anyone. Really nice collar, good price, reflective at night for safety.has an extra loop to attach the ID tag, and an extra safety tab to slide over on the place you close the collar so it can’t accidentally open and release your dog.
