Found this to be a decent puzzle toy for my dog. It was fairly easy for my pup to figure out, so I would say it's probably a "level 1" equivalent in terms of difficulty. The size of the puzzle would be good for a small or medium dog. The compartments to store treats in are also fairly small, so depending on your needs, that might be something to be aware of. There is also a squeaky button in the middle. Not sure what the point of that is. My dog was confused by it and it doesn't really add much to the puzzle. Overall though, this makes a decent puzzle toy that managed to keep my dog entertained for 20 minutes or so (on his first try. Second try, maybe worked for about 10 mins). ... show more

We have a similar dog puzzle that is a level one, and this puzzle is on par with that. However, it does work well, and our dog enjoyed using it. It definitely made him think, and use his nose, and paws to maneuver the pieces. My wife thought the spots where you put the food were too small for him to get the food out of (our dog is medium sized), but he was able to get everything out just fine. ... show more

I wasn't sure how well it would hold up to my puppies sharp teeth but so far so good. This is our second puzzle feeder and so far she prefers the first one we purchased years ago. This puzzle is well designed with the number of bins you can put food or treats into and all covers are well vented to allow for the scent to be detected. Our puppy is not crazy about the interior bins as she has to step onto the puzzle to open the interior bins. My only recommendation would be to make the outside bins larger.     • dog require your dog to work more mentally to find treat
i have a german shep she is 16 months, i played with her last night with this toy, she tries to rip everything off to get to the treats if i don't stop her, but she also started seeing how to get the treats out by sliding things, and she actually used her feet a little which is good, because i'm trying to get her to realize that her feet can help her do things other than dig up the backyard lol if she would think about it first, instead of going straight to something with her mouth, for her first time i think she did a great job, the toy could have been a little bit bigger but it was big enough for her to use it in the way it was intended, i also like the squeaky sound i would press that sometime when she found a treat, she loves anything that squeaks ... show more

This toy not only met my expectations, but was so much better than I imagined! I had so much fun teaching my girl to play with it. She loves it! I put treats in several different spots and we did it a few different times. She found them every time! It was so cute watching her use her nose to move the little pockets around and find the pieces of pupperoni. I am always trying to find toys that keep my 4 month lab puppy occupied. This puzzle came nicely packaged and works very well at keeping Domino busy. I put his kibble in different spaces in the puzzle and he works hard at finding and eating it. It gives me time to get work done while he plays. The pieces don't slide super well and the squeaker in the middle slips out of place easily. The dogs still take a bit of time and thought to get everything out but it either goes easily because the pieces just move with no problem or they get frustrated because the pieces won't move how they should. What a fantastic treat puzzle! Several moving pieces to be nudged with a snout. My girl is a rodeo eater. She is done in 8 seconds. Today, I fed her using the treat puzzle. This slowed her down. This great for dogs who eat too quickly. Also, wonderful for smart dogs who crave entertainment. The slots are easy to fill.
