I got all my He-Man stuff back in 1982. With that in mind, I think this is a really good Greyskull for those of you who want the one you had as a kid, but don't want to splash out for an antique one. It has all the old play features, elevator, trap door, locking jawbridge, turret gun, flag, weapons, windlass, and even the original stickers to put inside. The sculpt is good. The plastic is really tough. Vintage figures fit in there just like I was back in 1982. Awesome! The one place this falls down is that the paint application is almost not there at all. There is like no significant paint on this thing anywhere. Even the vintage one, which was just spray painted, managed to catch some of the angles of the stone and make the castle look spooky. This new one is very flat. The included image (with the 2 castles) shows what I am talking about. The castle on the left has an awesome paint app. Lots of weathering and atmosphere added here. The one on the right, the new one, is just flat looking. I wound up modding mine to enhance the texture. The second image (with 1 castle) is the one I painted. Be prepared to either DIY your own paint job or just get it for the great sculpt and play features. ... show more

This modern Castle Greyskull is just beautiful. I owned the original back in the '80s and just got this new one for Christmas, and it has all the same features and details, bells and whistles, only better. Every last detail that I can remember from the original has been reproduced, with upgraded modern touches. For example, the flags in the original that were just folded-over decals are now actual nylon cloth flags. All the important details have been recreated and I absolutely love this new Castle Greyskull. And the price was so low that my mother actually didn't believe it was the real price, remembering how much the original cost when she bought it for me in 1985. ... show more

Not sure why I never saw these in stores. I love the "origins" line. (The others? Not so much) A booth in my local flea market is trying to sell these for several hundred bucks. If you're on the fence about buying one of these, do it now.
