  • Very good, just don't expect complete security
Size: ys/m
For a $21 lock box, this product fits the bill. The box has a "double wall" so it has some sort of fire protection, has handles for easy portability, and feels solid enough. For what I need this box for, it's perfect, and I'd recommend it to anyone who is purchasing it for the right reasons. Rather than list pros and cons, I'll outline what this box is good at, and what it is not. The pros/cons of any safe or lock box are directly proportional to the cost, so listing a bunch of features it doesn't have won't help. What this lock box is good at: - Keeping birth certificates, government documents, and other important papers securely stored in a place where they can't accidentally be lost, and where kids can't use them to color on. - Provide a secure place for a few boxes of ammunition or other items you want to keep away from easy access. - Providing very basic security and very basic fire protection. What this lock box is not good at: - Securing valuable items from anyone with any motivation to take your stuff. - Protecting documents from a real fire or a flood. When the box is closed, there's a gap around the lid that would make it very susceptible to prying attacks. Also, while a screw driver can't "unlock" the box, it can rotate the lock in place such that it does not engage the slot on the side of the box. In other words, "twist, and it opens". However, this is a "lock box" and not a "safe". If you are looking for better security or real fire protection, look at a SentrySafe Chest (or any other brand). For about the same price, you get rated fire protection, water resistance, and a better locking system. However, it is less portable and the thicker walls mean less room for your stuff. Also, if you lose your keys, you'll have to pay someone to get access for you. I already own two safes, so this lock box is just what I need to keep a few important items from getting lost. ... show more

  • Perfect security
Size: ys/m
I was looking for a firearm lock box that wasn't fancy or expensive for my truck. I added some foam, bolted it to the floor and now I can secure my handgun when I need to.

  • Lock Maestro
Size: ys/m
I carefully reviewed all different types of these metal lock-boxes within Amazon to purchase. This lock box is only fire-retardant and not fire proof. Which is fine for me, since I have no intention of testing or leaving it in fire to see this box actually work. Other reviewers don't seem to know the difference between the two and asking for more protection with twenty and a change for the cost of buying this box. My only concern was that there is a minimum protection that i can trust within the place where I store my important items---which this lock box is the right fit. Only thing that I might add, if I may, is that this lock box should be made by closing a tiny gap (about a quarter inch space)that I can feel even the lid is shut and locked. I don't know whether the manufacturer decided to make the box breath? (or to have a breathing space?) or simply a design flaw. I don't know. ... show more

  • Good for the price
Received mine recently. With one word, it's good for the price, however, it cost me much higher because of the shipping fees - anyway. The material is quite tough and feels very solid and of decent quality. The lock, though is not really reliable. If one wants to break it in he'll break it in. One excellent feature of this box is it's storage capacity. It's very spacious inside to fit in A4 size paper and quite deep; at the same time very compact outside occupying just same space as my document folder used to in the cupboard. And it's not too heavy with 2 handles on both ends making it easy to grab in case of an escape scenario. Handles seem more reliable than the lock. I'd wish it had a good combination lock instead. ... show more

  • Great for Dorm Room
Size: ys/m
I bought this item for dorm room use to hold passports, gift cards, cameras, my wallet and checkbook while at class etc. It is well constructed for general storage. Its just a steel box with a fairly good lock. You could probably pick it if you had time and know-how but I just use it to safely stow these items under lock and key from prying eyes and sticky fingers. I also tethered it, out of sight with a lock cable, to a piece of furniture. I haven't had any problems. For the money its a small way to have piece of mind while out of my dorm room. ... show more

  • Safe Box
This is a very nice and sturdy box which holds 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper - unfolded. It's important to note that this box is not certified as a fireproof box, but rather only contains fire resistant material. The lid does not provide a fire proof seal. But it probably offers some protection. I store mine in the basement where it is much less likely to get hot from a house fire. ... show more
