  • Great Cheaper alternative
Very affordable and works amazing , the ability to completely clean it is awesome , the different heads provide a great variety of uses , from painting tiny pieces and details to a full spread 1"-2" wide coverage pattern. This was my third attempt to get it , the first was missing from the box it was mailed in and all the heads - no plastic over the box , the second one was stolen off my porch , I did receive this one and I'm glad , It works great !!! Amazon was great with the replacement of the stolen one , and the one that wasn't mailed I had to mail the empty container back (which was horrible) but they paid for everything , I was frustrated but it all worked out . I got the single piston air compressor from master airbrush and these are great together so far . ... show more

  • UPDATED REVIEW - NO LONGER A GOOD AIRBRUSH, CHECK RECENT REVIEWS!
UPDATE - This G444 set is still very problematic, but out of necessity I purchased a G233 set and it has worked perfectly without any of the below defects / flaws. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ I bought one about a year ago & it was a decent brush for the money, so when it started to get worn down I decided that I would order a new one, and even though I saw some bad reviews I thought maybe they were inexperienced with airbrushes or just got a lemon, plus I have had good experiences with my original airbrush. Two days later I am excited because I have a shiny and new airbrush in my hands! Right away I noticed that it was missing the quick disconnect coupler, but that didn't bother me too much because I already had one and rarely used it anyway since I have a 4 way splitter and multiple airbrushes. Then I hooked up the airbrush and did a quick test spray through the .2 mm nozzle, which worked just like the old one and had great flow and accuracy. Then I swapped over to the .3 mm setup, but I had issues with spitting and poor airflow. This was strike two, but I don't really use the .3 mm nozzle much, I use the .2 for fine details and the .5 for large areas, so my old .3 mm nozzle set was practically new, so at this point I am disappointed, but so long as the .5 mm nozzle and needle setup is good to go I will still be keeping the product because it will do what I need. So I install the .5 mm nozzle setup, and had NO airflow at all! Okay, strike three, this one is going back. As I was doing a quick cleaning between changing the tips I also noticed that it was much more difficult to get the remaining paint cleaned out of the reservoir on the new airbrush because it was very rough inside. This too is different from my old one, which was very smooth inside and the paint just wiped out easily. At this point I was worried because I too had obviously gotten a lemon, but I was still hopeful that it was just bad luck. And after all, this is an Amazon purchase (and Amazon is amazing), so I requested a replacement, and 2 days later it was in my mailbox! But this is where my disappointment continued. I opened the case and right off the bat noticed that the quick disconnect coupler was once again missing, though the slot is still there in the foam and it actually looked like it had been inserted at some point. But oh-well, right, so long as the airbrush is good I am happy, just like last time. So I hook it up and open the cap to put in some water for a test spray and notice that the reservoir on this one is also very rough, so that was strike two. But once again the .2 mm setup sprayed great, so we are back on track, now to test the .3 mm nozzle. SWEET, the .3 mm nozzle is spraying great too, this one is going to be a keeper I can just tell! So lets swap out to the .5 and do some priming! I Installed the .5 setup, and once again I had NO AIRFLOW!!! Strike three. Since I use the .5 mm configuration more than either of the others (priming, large areas, sealant coats, etc. ...) this one too is going to go back, and I am going to try a different manufacturer. Before I returned them I did some checking with my micrometer and found that the nozzles are quite different in the manufactured size. I don't mean the hole that the spray comes out of, that should be different, but the actual body size of the air cap that takes the flowing air and moves it over the tip of the nozzle to atomize the paint when the needle is retracted. The .2 and .3 air caps are the same size, but the .5 is different, and I think this is what is causing the flow issues, it appears to be screwing in too far and actually blocking the airflow. I am not an expert, but I have been airbrushing for 5 years (typically models and miniatures), and am a pretty 'handy' guy who can fix most anything, so this is not from an inexperienced user who just doesn't know how to use or swap the tips properly. From my experience the Master Airbrush brand is no longer a good product, and I hope that this review saves you the few hours and frustration I experienced. I am actually wondering if I received used items that had been previously returned. Neither one had the coupler, and both had issues, they also weren't sealed in anything except the Amazon bag / box they came in. But I have no way to really know, though I did put a note inside these two in case someone else gets them. ; ] ... show more

  • Not bad but lacking in quality control
Upon receiving the airbrush I ran some paint thinner through it to remove any oils left behind from the machining process. The thing leaked like a sieve and would only spray in spurts. At that point I could have just boxed it up and sent it back but I have a Master S62 airbrush that I like very well so I decided to see what was wrong with this new G44. First thing I noted was a metal shard inside the bowl at the bottom. It looked like it was not removed after a drilling operation. That led me to believe there may be other metal filings inside as well. As I was taking the airbrush completely apart, I noted two o-rings that had been pinched during assembly and were not sealing well. I then flushed out the assembly with more paint thinner and then with some air and put it back together placing the o-rings where they should have been.. I used some paint that I had on hand and made a few test sprays. The airbrush performed as I expected it should. I was able to make very small, well defined lines with it. No more leaks and spraying in spurts. All in all I'm happy with the purchase. Too bad the quality control on this airbrush was lacking. For the price, and now that it's working properly, it's a pretty good value. ... show more

  • G444
Have been using a devilbiss for the last year or so. I'm by no means an expert on airbrushing and have been mainly using them for base coating Warhammer models. However, I picked this up and upon first inspection, it is built solid/sturdy. One thing I dislike, I have no idea what this piece is called - but when you take it apart, on my other airbrush, the portion that gets screwed in and pushes the trigger forward (it's a small disk thing with a notch at the bottom) - on this airbrush it's a separate piece, and on my other brush it is all built it. It was a pain to get back in and I do not want to have to deal with it when I give the brush a thorough cleaning. I'm still getting uses to the more options to air control. The compressor has one, the connector to the brush has one, as well as the final control on the front of the brush. So far, I have only use it for base coating, and I've also practiced some more fine lines. I've been able to do some decent lines, either thick or 'feathery', allowing the base coat to show through. I give it a 4/5, but I'm not the best guy in the world. Some of the other reviews I see look blatantly like trolls. I think this is an excellent beginner brush, it is super cheap considered the prices out there for the high end brushes. I would recommend it as a good first purchase. Also, get an air compressor, the canned air is utter crap. ... show more
