After 20+ years I decided to replace all my mixing bowls. Oh my goodness, why didn't I do this sooner? These bowls are amazing! The shape of the bowl is perfect for mixing up batters and doughs. The bowl is heavy duty enough to not go flying when you're mixing, and the turtle shell pattern gives excellent grip, even when my hands are covered in sticky dough. I've had a Mason-Cash mixing bowl that has lasted for years and is still amazing. So I decided to splurge and buy a larger version in 2022. Unfortunately, the quality of their products is no longer a priority to their business. In 6 months the new bowl chipped with only basic usage (I've probably only used it a couple times and always hand-washed it). Others have commented that their quality is no longer worth the price, and I have to agree. While I like the design of their bowls, their quality is no longer a justification for the price. They're fragile and weak ceramic bowls that end up in the trash after a couple months. Mason-Cash: you're ruining your brand. Whatever cheaper processes you've switched to are making your expensive bowls fragile and useless. ... show more

This so much reminds me of the mixing bowls used by my mother and grandmothers years ago. I've used stainless steel for 40+ years but there is something special about using a ceramic mixing bowl. This bowl arrived wrapped in bubble wrap in a cardboard box that was not large enough to protect the bowl. It fit right to the box so any jostling was bound to damage it. There was no effort made to wrap the edges with foam or cardboard to protect the ceramic bowl. It is also very soft ceramic - not durable and sturdy as I had hoped. It had a lovely old fashioned appearance and I was excited to receive it. I repacked it and took it to UPS for return and they informed me it would cost at least $225. Fed EX estimated the same. The bowl was $30. How can I pay $225 to return a broken $30 bowl. Sadly, I'm waiting for an even larger version to arrive (as I purchased two sizes). I fear an even greater calamity. ... show more
