  • Deadpool gaming chair goodness with a bit of fatigue
The reclining feature isn't what you'd expect, you have to pull it out from underneath and there is no knob to do it, not a problem, but, the instructions didn't mention this and were universal to the base model. My unit didn't have a massage pillow, so, IDK if that works or not. I decided to upgrade from the death trap of an office chair my ex bought me from K-Mart years ago. It was falling apart and, honestly, I'm trying to replace everything from my ex for obvious reasons. I bought this for two fold reasons: The first is obvious, it's Deadpool. As a representative of the Deadpool singularity I am required to own Deadpool franchised products so that I can show that I'm part of the Deadpool singularity. Second is the reclining feature and the racing seat design. I thought it'd play nice with my scoliosis. It doesn't, but, then again, it's not advertised to. Assembly is easy enough, it has steps and, I don't know how I feel about the fact that it has a gas cylinder for the raise/lower feature. I mean, sure, it's far more convenient to lift up a little and let the chair raise for you, but, a mechanical ratchet is by definition safer as it has 0 psi and, if it fails, you're just falling to the ground versus a gas cylinder which "could" just fail gracefully and lower to the ground, but, also "might" explode. IDK what gas they use, hopefully not plain air because oxygen deteriorates metal, but, hopefully a stable gas too, IDK and didn't check as I hadn't anticipated the gas cylinder and didn't notice it until I got the unit and then saw it mentioned in the description on the buy page. That's not a manufacturer or vendor issue, that's a matter of my inattentiveness. Apparently, this chair is officially licensed if that matters for collectors reasons to you, it doesn't to me and some of my fave Deadpool stuff wasn't licensed. That bit about the gas cylinder may not be a concern to you, however, it's worth noting because it may limit where you can transport it. Do research before, say, transporting this by air is all I'm saying (and maybe if you're going from low altitude around sea level to high altitude like most of New Mexico). Either way, it does its job so far, so, that's a plus. Assembly isn't overly complicated and the unit comes with all the tools you'll need to install stuff. Namely 2 hex wrenches and, iirc, a screwdriver. I don't remember if it has a screw driver because I used my electric screw driver when possible. The instructions were just the slightest confusing only because there was no mention of the reclining feature aside from one vague mention. At the time that made me second guess if there were extra bits for that. There aren't, it's already installed with the base of the chair and doesn't have any mechanism aside from rails to keep it on track and screws that jut out at the back to stop the recliner at max. Everything else was pretty much straight forward, and, if you even have basic mechanical skills or are able to follow directions via a YouTube video, you should be good to go, I don't think it's worth the extra amount to have someone assemble it for you unless you have accessibility issues, but, that's your money, not mine, your call, but, it's simpler to assemble than an erector set is to play with, so, if you want to save that extra dough, you sure can.... otherwise, search locally for your local Bob the Handyman, and have them assemble it. I'm sure there's a Bob near you because Bob's are their own singularity that follows the Deadpool singularity, even if you aren't part of the Deadpool singularity your chair is ;-D. Things were so easy to assemble that I was able to use the restricted confines of the foyer to assemble everything. Was that a smart idea? IDK, I'm lazy and I forgot that I had some frozen chimichangas until I just typed this. As far as comfort: It's about the same as the office chair I was replacing, probably more because it's foam and not... IDK what they used for padding in the other chair, but, it was either cotton or some other fiber that lasted... uhh,... 4 weeks before I felt like I was sitting on the frame of the chair? Not an issue with this since it's foam, however, it's not comfy, at least, not for me. The pleather is more or less high quality, but, the foam was a bit too firm for my tastes. That same firmness, however, is great on the back, so, give one, take one. I'd rate comfiness at.... an arbitrary number of... 4. The cushions that come with the chair attach via elastic, no biggie for the lumbar cushion as you're shifting it up and down and not pulling against the sewn anchor points, it might lose retention over time, but shouldn't completely wear out because you're less likely to shift it all that much. The neck pillow is a lot more functional than I thought and the elastic for it has the higher chance of wearing out sooner because, depending on what you've got going on, you might shift it quite a bit. The reclining feature is functional, but, unless you have abnormally short legs, there's a chance that it won't extend to your feet, for me that wasn't an issue because, yes, I bought the stool too, I bought it because I thought it was an ottoman that was listed as a stool due to translation issues, no, it's a stool... I'll add a bit at the bottom on why that's an issue, for now, though, you want to have something to rest your feet on the reclining part will not do the job, but, it works, and, unlike other reviewers, I did not have an issue with it, it was assembled correctly. The arm rests weren't what I was anticipating, but are functional and are easy to use/adjust. It's not an issue for me, but, if you end up needing things to stay fixed in one position, you may have issues. Don't get me wrong, it's not loose, but, turning the arm rests in and out doesn't have a lock. Rasing and lowering them does, thankfully. Does it recline as far back as they advertise? Yup. Is it a ratchet type of recline? Yup. Is that good? Yup. The chair my ex bought me had a resistance stop sort of set up for reclining which, well... lead to issues where if I sat down too quick, no matter how tight I had the recliner control, i'd be laying flat on the chair with the wrong sort of move, I don't have that issue with this chair. You set it where you want it and you're good to go. This listing advertises that you can recline to 180 and you can, but, unlike the previous chair, I was unable to get comfy enough to snooze in this chair. It's important to me to note that due to the seat not being the most comfortable for me, and given that I use this chair constantly during my waking hours, I bought a Purple cushion and it raises me up a bit further than I'd be if I was sitting in the chair normally, so, that may be the reason, IDK. Not that big of a deal, but, it's worth noting if you plan on using this like a normal recliner. I'm satisfied with the purchase all in all and would suggest it for anyone who needs a gaming chair and likes Deadpool. It's not the $3k uber chair that has a hydraulic boom that lowers your gaming monitor down in front of you that I want, but, that's not a bad thing either. This is cheaper and easier. Package shipped via UPS. Not a bad thing, but, you might want to snag the tracking number from Amazon so you can see when it'll arrive. In my case, it and the stool claimed they'd arrive in a week, but arrived a WHOLE lot sooner. One final note is that part of the advertisement for this chair, at the bottom of the listing, suggests buying this in conjunction with the stool they sell. The stool is easy to assemble, etc, however... I don't know if I recommend the combo. Both have wheels at the base, and, both swivel effortlessly. Sure, it's nice to have a chair that easily swivels, but, that's the issue. Resting your feet on that stool is awkward to say the least because it has a tendency to swivel with the weight of your legs/feet if you don't rest your feet on the exact center of it or the other end for that matter... It's not the worst experience in the world, but, I sort of wish I'd kept the ottoman from the office chair and not bought the stool because, at least with the ottoman, it doesn't move because it has a rim and not wheels, and rocks and doesn't swivel.... I can see that if I didn't have this perched in a corner of my room, how the swiveling might get to me even with that set up since it'll naturally want to pivot and there's no lock to the swivel aspect. I'd suggest this anyway, but, if you were wondering about the product not having 5 *'s, that's why. ... show more

  • Leans to the right a little, but still comfy.
Color: Iron Man, Black
First off if you’re a large man or like to sit bowlegged (both apply to me), then you might want to go for something with a wider seat. I am 6 ft 240 lbs and like to sit with my legs bowed outward and the raised edges of the seat can be a little confining, but with that being said the chair is still very comfortable and I’m really enjoying using it. The only true fault I found in the chair is that it leans to the right a little. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means. I actually would not have even really noticed if it weren’t for the fact that the armrests sit at slightly different heights. I found this out while trying to adjust them to rest just under my desk and noticed that the max height of one was slightly higher than the other. I’m not sure if this is due to the bottom mounting bracket being slightly bent or maybe if the bottom or top ports that house the gas lift are not perfectly straight. I may try to remove the seat from the gas lift to see if I can re-set it. In addition I like the fact that the armrests can be rotated inward and outward, but I wish there was a way to lock them in place as I accidentally bumped them out of the preferred position quite often. All in all, a chair this comfortable and at this reasonable of a price is going to have a couple of issues. I wouldn’t consider any of these to be big enough problems to say it’s not worth the price. For what you’re paying, it’s definitely a good chair ... show more

  • Beaming Granddaughter
I asked my granddaughter what she wanted for her birthday, so she sent me a picture of this game chair, I purchased this chair for her. She was so excited when it arrived, she couldn’t wait to assemble and began using it! She loves it, and I’m told she was been known to sleep in it! She’s satisfied, I’m satisfied! Thanks so far, so good!!!! ... show more

  • Looks incredible, and the customer service was top notch- but not meant for the bigger people
Color: Captain America
I was looking for a new, comfortable chair to replace the one I have for working at home, but I also wanted something I could kick back in after work was done. I found this chair on Amazon, and after reading the reviews I decided to roll the dice and buy it. It arrived on time, but slightly damaged (deep gash in the box, and a small tear in the seat that I was fine living with. And I put that on UPS). Putting it together was fairly easy, looked incredible, and I was delighted to learn that the back pillow had the built-in massagers. And then I sat in it. To be clear, I'm 5"10, 228. I'm not super fat, but I am larger than I used to be (and a bit wider, too). The seat was firm, but fairly comfortable, but not something I would be comfortable sitting in for 10 hours a day. And the seat is narrow, with flared edges that hugged my hips. Not uncomfortable, but I like being able to move around in my seat, which I couldn't really do here. The fold-out footrest was great, but the dealbreaker came when I tested out reclining in the chair, and nearly toppled over backward onto my head. After thinking about it, I decided to return the chair, as it just wasn't what I was looking for. This led to a brief exchange with the merchant, where they asked what they could do to make it right. After some back and forth (all over a couple of hours), they offered me a full refund, which I appreciate immensely. All in all, I actually think this is a good chair- if you are younger and thinner than I am. This would have been the perfect gaming chair for me in my 20's. But that was 20 years and 100 pounds ago. But if you are younger and looking for a good gaming chair, I'd definitely recommend this. ... show more

  • Good quality, but needs some improvements
I spring for this, because I really wanted the Spider-Man design aesthetic, but it’s support structure can use some improvements. It’s a good first gaming chair, but I think it can be approved upon with elbow pads, built into the fabric as well as a more effective back massager for your lower back region. If you really like Spider-Man, I recommend this but keep in mind, you might have to spend a little extra money in the elbow, padding and lower back to really get a nice personal fit for yourself ... show more
