  • Phenomenal guitar
Arrived two days early. Well boxed, with no damage to the packaging. Beautiful guitar when unboxed, and actually only needed a couple of small tunings by adjustments, with the intonation spot on. The sound of this guitar is incredible. It is very warm sounding, while being crystal clear, and even sounding across all strings. The shape of the neck also makes it easy to play, up and down the fretboard. Plugged the n, the electronics work well. The sound is full, and either the tone adjusted for brightness, there’s plenty of clarity for solos. Definitely worth the price tag, which for a Martin is more than reasonable. ... show more

  • Excellent guitar
This guitar sounds great right out of the box! Fast shipping, price was less than expected for this quality of instrument. Love the color and satin finish!

  • Fantastic Martin Electric Acoustic Guitar
What I like about this guitar: the tone, the action, the Fishman onboard preamp, and the craftsmanship. What I don't like: nothing. Additionally, I want to say a word about the merchant Liberty Music. The guitar was boxed by the manufacturer. During the boxing the bottom strap button was excluded. I contacted Liberty Music about the matter and they said they would make it right. And they did and in an expeditious manner. In conclusion, the guitar is fantastic and Liberty Music is a great Amazon affiliate. ... show more

  • Quality guitar. Plays easily. Has excellent tone.
I like the product. Performs just like the Martin Guitar it is. I have one minor complaint. The "strap peg" was in an envelop inside of a zipper compartment in the soft-case. It took me quite a while to find it so that I could attach a strap. If fact, I found it by accident when I was looking for documentation. I would recommend that the manufacture put a note to that effect somewhere visible to the new owner. It is a fine product and I recommend it to serious guitar players. ... show more

  • The Perfect Beach & Bondfire Guitar
This is the ultimate overland, 4x4 guitar. It just sounds great, tenaciously enduring life when other instruments are in need of therapy. This Martin is so rugged that you'll consider putting a lift kit on it with big, rugged off road tires!

  • Don't buy from MusicStoreLive!
This poor thing arrived loose in the carton inside the gig bag, since a key piece of packing wasn't there. It was obviously a return item, with stickered-over old labels. It clunked when I picked up the carton, and on opening I discovered the interior pickup rattling loose inside the guitar body. Hard to say if if that's why it was returned in the first place and they just sent a return item out as new without checking it, or if it happened on its way to me. Somebody lost that cardboard packer and it sure wasn't me. I made a new packing piece to return it, I didn't want it mistreated any further. Don't need any more stains on my soul. The actual guitar sounded good and played nicely enough, but it's a plain-jane version without a trace of binding or purfling, and is made of HPL which is just fancy plywood. Built in Mexico. Internal cabling appears to be secured with sticky-backed zipties. Not quite my idea of a Martin, but probably adequate for an amateur like me. The built in preamp has no controls of any kind, I hope the jack switches the battery power when plugged in. No built in tuner. Pics are careful not to show you the jack and battery port or tell you too much about the details, like what the preamp can or can't do. No spec sheet available, just proclamations of "Fishman electronics." Whoopee. Maybe I'll buy a Taylor or a Takamine instead, up a notch from this one. ... show more

  • What a guitar!
I own several guitars, also 2 Martins, a D18 and a D-X1E. I've enjoyed playing over the years but due to limitations from torn rotator cuff, I've always have difficulty playing any full sized guitars. This X Series D-X2E is perfect! Right out of the box with a little tuning, I could hear and feel I had just what I wanted out of a guitar, especially a 12 string, which I've always wanted. Can't beat the looks or price either. ... show more
