I have thicker and more luxurious blankets, but I was looking for a very specific shade of purple that's not too Easter egg lavender and not too dull purplish grey. I can never seem to end up with a blanket that looks exactly like the color represented on screen, so I'm very pleased with this purchase. We all need a light summer blanket at times, so the weight is not a deal breaker for me. This color is great when layered with a dark purple or eggplant blanket. First I have to say I have cats and they like to sleep one my bed occasionally during the winter I bought this to use as a bedspread, because bedspreads don't fit in my washer and I'm too frugal to pay to have one cleaned every 2 months. I bought the king for a queen bed because it covered all the frames. Loved the way it looked. Apparently each time a cat claw touched the blanket it pulled out a whiteish thread. It looked really bad, so one day I sat down and cut off some of the worst ones. The next time I washed it and hung it to dry I saw there were holes all over the blanket. It is a nice looking blanket, soft and lightweight, but will not stand up to cats. A real shame because I really liked it. I am going to donate it to the local shelter. At least the animals can still enjoy it. ... show more
