  • Great set up with a couple of issues.
Both the CPU fan and the case itself are secured with very simple nuts and bolts. That makes it very easy, but because the nuts are tightened down into the plastic case they keep coming loose. They need to supply a simple locking nut instead, so you didn't drop anything metal down into the case and short circuit it. Other than that it is very well made and looks cool too. Packaged extremely well and instructions are good enough for anyone buying a development board. If you can't put this together and get it working then return it and buy yourself some Lego instead :) I love it and I have traveled 1,000s of miles with it in my computer bag. Airport security are a bit baffled by it, but I tell them it is a mini computer and they seem happy with it. I would expect it to get swabbed at security if you do take it as hand luggage, but this clear box makes it obvious that what is inside is safe. ... show more

  • Raspberry Pi 5 and everything you need to get started using it
This is a Raspberry Pi 5 kit with everything needed to get started, it’s targeted mostly for beginners or anyone who would rather pay a premium instead of individually sourcing each individual component and downloading the correct version of Linux that supports this relatively new hardware. In this package you get the Raspberry Pi itself, the latest version which came out late last year and weren’t super easy to order until recently. It’s an single board computer that is engineered and supported by Raspberry Pi Foundation, a UK-based organization. They release free software and maintain PiOS, a special version or Linux designed with Raspberry Pi computers in mind. The Micro SD card included in this kit comes with Pi OS preinstalled and all you have to do is put it in the Raspberry Pi’s built-in card reader and you can boot it up just like a regular Windows PC. You also get a case, copper heatsinks, and a fan that you assemble. It’s easy to put together, it took me less than 10 minutes to have everything ready to go and the computer was up and running. You get two HDMI cables with the correct Micro-HDMI connectors on the side that plugs into the Raspberry Pi. It supports 4k@60Hz from each port, but I think your get a better experience using a single monitor or 2x 1080p monitors. The new Pi 5 is powerful compared to previous models, but try to understand that this is a low-cost device designed for the purpose of learning and helping kids and adults become more educated about computers and how to use them. This thing has roughly the amount of processing power as a flagship smartphone from 5-6 years ago (or a lower-midrange phone from today). It has 4x Arm A76 “big cores” paired with 8GB of RAM on this model and that’s the highest available amount you can get currently. There is no built-in storage like smartphones have, but you get 128GB on the included memory card. The things you can use this device for are almost unlimited, you can use it as a general purpose computer for browsing the web, typing up word documents, playing media like audio and video files (either locally or streamed over the internet). People use these as media servers on their home network, as well as using them as firewalls or DNS-based ad blockers. There’s countless projects that you can do with these also, some people use them to control robots that they build and place a Raspberry Pi inside of it and that’s what allows them to control it. Everything I have mentioned so far is just a small fraction of what is possible. The official website for Raspberry Pi is full of useful information that will help you get started, I highly recommend starting there once you’re using this device wnd want learn more about what you can do with it. It’s a great resource and it’s free, so make sure you at least look through some of the information, it’s very helpful and easy to understand (even for people who aren’t knowledgeable about computers). This kit does end up costing an extra $40 or so, compared to buying everything individually (assuming that prices and availability of Raspberry Pi 5s stay the same as they are now). But not worrying about what to buy and if you’re selecting the right case, memory card, etc could be worth the convenience for some people. ... show more

  • Don't Buy - Better starter Kits out there
This is a terrible design. I would give it a 1, but it did include all parts as advertised. The case is complicated to put together. The instructions are very small and hard to read. There are no instructions for mounting the cooling fan. No video instructions available either by either the manufacturer or Youetube.. I am going to toss the case and just buy a new, simpler case with proper fan mounts. I have bought multiple starter kits and this one by FAR was the worst to assemble. I still can't figure out how to mount the fan. I see tiny letter "Support Active Cooler Not Included". So it appears they give you an active cooling fan with no way to mount it One of the 4 fan screws was a "blank". Meaning, it has no screw grooves. It came with 4 bolts, so I assume it was supposed to have grooves. I bought this because it was $10 cheaper than the other starter kits, bad mistake. Pay a bit more and get a fully functional case with proper fan mounts. Stay away from this one. ... show more

  • The assembly
Assembly was a little wonkie but it was supper fun. It's tuffer than you think but still be very careful as the parts are not made of steel and do break

  • Works as expected, good price
Is a computer with the addition of keyboard, mouse, and a HDMI display with 128 Gig memory. All software is free and will be constantly updated as risks and improvement are made. Great for a beginner.
