  • Works ok
I had to change out the rubber tube for rubber bands for better accuracy and speed- it's not hard to do, and makes an improvement- I had tried the smaller pocket slingshots where your hand is close to the "Y" and was always hitting the thumb with the ammo- so i got this type to keep the hand further away- and so far it's working- Grip is a little awkward- but not bad- the slingshot is metal, so should be very durable- ... show more

  • JUST FINE
Using garbanzo beans as practicing ammo. Rubbers kind of relaxing some after few days of use.

  • Great slingshot to get a wire antenna in a tree!
I purchased this product for similar reasons other ham radio operators did; to help cast a line up into a tree so one can hang a wire antenna. This is probably the simplest and easiest way to do so. I tried hurling a socket set bolt tied to a string using the slingshot but to no avail. To no fault of the slingshot, hurling heavier weights, a part of the rubber started to fray. Wrapped it tightly with electrical tape and did fine. The answer to doing the job correctly with this slingshot is using a 1 ounce round fishing sinker tied to 15# fishing line. It hurled it WAY WAY up in the tree and with the weight on the end came back to earth! Now each end of the antenna is up at about 70 feet; thanks to this slingshot! Easiest way to hold the slingshot is upside down so the line doesn't get caught in the rubber hose. ... show more

  • Rock-solid slingshot
I'm a big fan of the Marksman wrist-rocket, which is by far the best slingshot I've ever owned. But, I wanted something a little easier to put in a pocket. I tried a few, but I was disappointed everytime. So, I decided to go back to a Marksman. This slingshot is the same as the Classic II, but it comes with some kind of "high-performance" bands. Don't even bother with the bands. As soon as you get the slingshot, switch them out. I would have gone with the Classic II, but this one just happened to be cheaper at the time. Now that I have new bands, this slingshot has become my favorite. I still prefer Marksman's wrist-rocket when it comes to accuracy. But, when I need a slingshot that fits in a pocket for a day-hike, this is what I carry. In my opinion, Marksmamn currently makes the most durable, accurate, space-efficient slingshots on the market. ... show more

  • Antenna Installation tool.
This is a great sling shot at a reasonable price. I used this in conjunction with a cheap Zebco fishing real to launch a line across a couple of tall trees in order to raise my Ham Radio antenna. The fishing line was tied to a 1/2 ounce fishing sinker and shot across the tree tops. Dacron rope was then tied to the end of the fishing line. The fishing line was then reeled in to pull th Dacron guy rope though the trees to support my dipole antenna. Use Dacron rope because it is UV resistant and doesn't rot from exposure to weather. The Zebco reel came with 12 pound test fishing line already installed. and was about 6 bucks at wally world. If you dont have a fishing sinker use a couple of threaded nuts as weight. This method works well at a minimal cost.. John K4AGO ... show more

  • sturdy but magnet limits ammo choice
This sling shot seems to be well built. We have not owned them long but the handle grip seems study enough to survive the abuse that kids will not doubt subject it to. My only complaint is that the magnet that is sewn into the leather pocket makes it difficult to grip non-iron ammo. Rather than having to spend money on consumables for a sling shot, I was hoping to use acorns, small rocks, and anything else you would find along the way as ammo. Gripping the ammo is not difficult for me but my kids find it difficult enough that they have quickly lost interest in using their sling shots. As an experiment, I may try to remove the magnet. Update: I removed the magnet and now the saddle can hold free, natural ammo (rocks, acorns, etc) much better. Bumped up to 4 stars. ... show more

  • Not great, not awful
Considering the price, it's not bad. The leather holder ripped my 5th time using it. You dont get much further than 15 yards, but once you adjust to it, it can be an accurate shot! Great beginner or toy (educated use)

I may have to modify it only because I have short arms; but I feel like the rubber band should be slightly shorter so there can be more force w/ a shorter draw. The band/tube has faded & (almost)dried into a pink color but it's still functioning months later!
